He's not the first referee to suddenly give up, since there is no VAR this season, there's no reason right now to quit, I'm thinking more that someone has proven some wrong doing, and he's had no choice. While we've all had a bit of a laugh with it, it seems bizarre that a newspaper would leave something so odd like that in, for people to create rumours about it.
