Let's have it right, anyone with a modicum of intelligence knows he's doing a lord Lucan in the summer, and if we win something I'll gladly cheer his name for ever more but don't hide the fact that an agreement was in place after the initial transfer request, be folly to think otherwise...... What's gripping my goater is I have a terrible feeling shrek is lingering in the background.

Incidentally, a Samuel eto or David villa would score more goals in our team.

Funny, when Shrek scored that goal I turned to my rag mates and said "remember Torres suddenly finding magic in his boots against Chelsea..."

FWIW, I don't think Carlos will go in the suPmmer...

I hope he stays, truly do but I believe we have tried being to cute...... City know his value is parallel with top strikers in world football, I honestly don't think we believe someone will stump up the going rate which could be silly.... Personally wouldn't let him leave for anything less than 55m, if we get that I'd slap it on barca table for villa and there is no chance they'd turn it down, also a little easier with silva now here.

As for shrek Alan, gut feeling, hope I'm wrong.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, being a good footballer doesn't mean that you aren't a moron. Tevez is pretty much a dumbass that lets KJ lead him around and tell him what to think. KJ loves to stir shit up and get attention and Tevez gives him a reason to do it so things won't ever change. He'll sign w/ RM and in 8-12 months KJ will let it be know that he's "not happy" and is considering retirement. Then it will be on to Italy...

Very disappointed that Carlos Tevez is looking odds on to depart the club in the next 4 months.

Despite everything that has been said and done, he has had a phenomenal effect on our performances over the last 2 years. As has already been said, he will be hard, very hard to replace but it will not be impossible to find another striker capable of filling his boots.

Although he is not technically classed as a striker being an AMF, we would certainly need to sign a prolific goalscorer to compensate for the loss of his high goals per game ratio. He is currently at the peak of his career and will still be a top player for another few seasons.

If Real Madrid come knocking on the door then I believe we could demand a fee of at least €45m. Anything less would be a bitter blow.

Our search should be active right now. Assuming that we can consolidate our league position in coming weeks to demonstrate our CL credentials there should be every opportunity to cast the net for the best talent current available in world football - bar none.

Comments that Silva s/be given a strikers role are completely ludicrous. Great player as he is he is most definitely not a striker.

The clear out needs to be fully completed in June and players who clearly are not up to the standard required. A full review of all on-loan players should - if it is not already happening - be underway to determine who amongst those has a future as far as the 25 man squad for 2011/2012.

The operation needs to start now and not following the final whistle of the last match of the season. For obvious reasons.

If Carlos leaves, and I certainly hope he doesn't, his departure might make it less likely that we could be able to secure top class Argentines such as Pastore and the likes.

All this started with his agent saying he would be playing for Corinthians in Brazil after the summer. Not a hope. They haven't got the money to buy him or to pay him. Look what happened to Robinho, if I remember correctly, he went on loan to Corinthians, presumably with City paying some of his wages and then had to come back to Europe as there was not enough money in Brazil football.

They wanted Robinho out. With Tevez can you see City loaning him out and paying for the privelege.

I love Bobby Manc`s honesty and although i love what Tevez has done for the club i hope the club sell him during the summer. Do you think Bobby knows Tevez will be out the door during the close season with the way he suddenly withdrew his transfer request, will Mancini move out the last of Hughes trouble makers?

If Tevez goes would you like to see Silva played as a striker and Pastore brought in to fill Silva`s role. I personally feel Silva has more industry than tevez and is more of a team player.

Do you think Tevez should show the kind of respect and loyalty players like Kompany and De Jong have shown the club?

Komps linked with a £10 mil move to Barca when he was sidelined with his toe injury...but said he came to Man City for a reason and would not be leaving until he achieved it.

De Jong said he wants to finish his career at Man City and loved the way the club and its fans backed him when everyone else was against him.

Players Like Barry,Milner who even when benched never go complaining to the press.

Should we give our backing to the loyal players and say thanks for everything and See ya to the ones that are not?

Thoughts

Absolutely spot on. If we don't value the loyalty players show why should we expect it. The players you have named along with some others like Zab have shown an intelligence that Tevez simply does not possess despite his obvious talent and commitment. It's something I value in players but I am not sure it shared by the majority of football supporters.
For what's it worth I cannot see any club being able to afford Tevez and he's contracted so unless he or the odious and sinister prick of an agent are so disruptive to the team I can't see him moving on in the summer. In fairness the continued drama and the unhelpful statements that come out of Brand Tevez would test the patience of a saint and I can understand Mancini's frustration.

It has nothing to do with brazilian football but everything to do with kias control, he idolises him and when push comes to shove will do as he says - kia just playa these games to initiate unrest and get his pay day

Nothing like the rob deal either, bin head flopped where as tevez has excelled, be no shortage of takers

robinho went on loan to santos

It is Mancini who is currently speaking like the 'dead man walking'

There is certainly just as great a chance that he will be out of the door before Carlos.

Carlos was simply told he was going nowhere and to sit tight, why do you think that is?

Situations change and the reality is Tevez still represents the owners' poster boy, one world class talent.

Mancini's whole demeanour for a couple weeks has been less than inspirational for me as a fan, goodness knows for a player.

It's the same rhetoric, time and again. The pressure must be unbearable, but he knew what he was signing up for.

As an aside, there is not a team on planet earth, currently, who could pay a transfer fee for Tevez, plus wages, and factor in Fair Play.

Joorbachian's comments earlier in the week provided an insight. He was touting Corinthians, but only in two years or mo.

That's because Carlos has made his expensive bed and will have to lie in it.

The way I see it, there are only a couple of options available to Tevez this summer - and Corinthians is not one of them (even his agent has said it would be impossible for at least another coupe of years - largely becuase the transfer fee needed to buy him will go down with every year towards the end of his contract).

He can only really got to Inter, Real Madrid or Barca - they are the only Clubs who have the prestige and would be able to afford him this summer.

Barca I can't see either - they are badly in debt at the moment, and I just can't see them splashing out that sort of a fee for a player this summer, particularly when they have Villa, Messi and Pedro working so well as a front three - where would they play Tevez? They certainly won't be spending that sort of money on a sub.

Which just leaves Real and Inter. Would either of those Clubs be looking to make the kind of invetments it would take to buy Tevez? I'm not sure they would - both seem to have shrunk back from the astronomical transfer fee type players over the last season, in light of FFPR.

If neithe come in for him, do you think he'll just knuckle down and get on with being a City player for another season or two?

Its going to be an interesting story over the summer, that much is certain.

Thanks to Cityboy1 for correcting me that it was Santos Rob went to not Corinthians.
Otherwise, how can you say Robinho flopped there. I thought they won the league that season. Still reckon Brazilian teams haven't got the money to buy top Premiership players.
