Bobby Manc

It's all about whether Mancini is worth the gamble for me. And i won't pretend to know if he is or not. I know Morinhio is though.

Eh?

Eh?

If it's a possibility that we get Morinho as a replacement then, for me, keeping Mancini is taking a gamble on him being able to get us 4th next season...or better. Whereas Moriniho isn't as much of a gamble as we already know he can cut it in the prem, has a knowledge of the prem.

So if we keep Mancini and he doesn't get us 4th or better then we replace him (which we will) we will have dropped a bollock in that we won't get Moriniho whereas we could've done if we didn't wait a season.

More reason to love Mancini:

So you want Mancini to stay unless we can get Mourinho in whcih case you want Mourinho? I think quite a few people would go along with that. I did think that but I am increasingly thinking that Mancini should stay, regardless of Mourinho. It is a tough one though, no doubt, if you get the opportunity to get arguably the best manager in the world then you've got to at least think about it. But then I do really like Mancini!

Even if Mourinho were available I would still want Bobby Manc at the helm. Mourinho is all about hinmself yet Bobby Manc seems to really be a team player !!

im not a real big fan of mancini, he plays these negative tatctics at times but that was because his sole purpose is to get the team 4th by any means, but some of the subs he makes in games are so whack. an example was against united he brought on viera for jonhson and didnt bring on swp until a while after, when he really should have made a double sub, the team had nfi what was going on. Also ireland is horrible get rid of him, i dont care if he had 1 good season hes a waste of space

Good post OP.

Think back to when Mancini took over, he was written off from all quarters, experts were warning us that he didnt have a clue about english football, big mistake sacking Hughes they were bleating.....yet here we are 4 games to play and we are still in the hunt for 4th.

I would have snapped your arm off back in December to be in this position.

I think the irony he is referring to is in his suggestion that someone else may be dead from the neck up when he doesn't even know the difference between "your" and "you're" or "wrote" and "written." Could be wrong though. You're spot on about Mancini in my opinion, Dan.

Didn't know you needed perfect grammer to make a point. By the way, you know fuck all about football. I will tell you this, Mancini is a shite manager, Mancini will not get us into the top 4 this season, he will be removed in the summer. I will say one thing that sums Mancini up, Vieira.

Im not a fan of Mancini but some of the stuff on here at the moment is riddiculous...from both sides of the arguements

Firstly....MH...i was a fan of his and thought he did well for the club. I cannt believe that there are some on here criticising his transfer dealings....Kompany, dejong, given tevez ade barry, lescott bridge to name just some are all great players and have done well this season..not to mention bellamy (and i was avidly against having this guy at the club).....I also thought that MH style of football was more enjoyable to watch, and in my opinion we played a better style of attacking football....HOWEVER...defensively we were poor and their is no getting away from that. This is ultimately what cost MH his job

RM has come in and done an amazing job if sorting out the defensive side/nature of our team........we have looked far more solid and organised at the back and in midfield.
However as Ive said before, he hasnt got the balance quite right, especially when it comes to playingthe bigger/better teams and there have been numerous time s where I have criticcised his aproach and style of play in games (noteably the CC games against utd and the liverpool game at home and the recent derby....and even in some of the games we have won i think we have been poor)

However to call for the guys head is ridiculous. I said at the time that getting rid of MH was a mistake.....and ill say again...gettting rid of Mancini is a mistake.....for the simple reason is that just like MH, Mancini needs time to shape his squad. I dont agree with posters saying he has been left with a poor squad.....but its a squad that doesnt fit with the way mancini wants to play...it doesnt have attacking full backs and it doesnt have a box to box midfielder....teh way MH set up his teams it didnt need those players as much as mancini does......but to say our squad is weak is completely innaccurate.

We cannt continue to have a revolving door policy at eh club as far as managers (or squad for that matter) is concerned. We have the basis of a very very good squad...it needs tweaking but thats it. Talk of getting rid of Ireland, barry, bellamy (though he will struggle with injuries) swp ade etc etc is crazy...these players are good enough to get us into the top 4 and beyond with a couple of additions (and i do mean a couple...a box to box player, is a must/top priority). The manager must be given time to form his own team but he has the core of it their already...

the players we need to get rid of are the likes of petrov, benjani, garrido, caciedo etc.

My main concern with mancinii is that he is rigid in the way he plays...that he only knows one way/style and he will stick to that.....I dont think that is the right way to go about things and ferguson ahs shown time and time again that he will change his team around. Mancini needs to demonstrate that he can do the same....starting with the arsenal game.

If he cannt show he can do that over the next year or two then fair enough...get rid but you have to give the guy some time

We havent spent £300 million, and Hughes did the transfers?

Keep Mancini, we're 2 points off 4th with 4 games to play, he has hardly done a horrific job has he? Were on target for the '70 points' and everyone was singing his praises after brum, had we drawn saturday im sure most people wouldnt be spouting all this rubbish about sacking him.

-- Tue Apr 20, 2010 4:52 pm --

You don't need perfect grammar. However, when you start suggesting that people are "dead from the neck up" for daring to have a different opinion from yours, then you open yourself up to criticism tbh. I like the way you state opinions as absolute fact, very endeering. It is my goal in life to know as much about as football as you, I just hope that one day I can succeed.

I didn't even see that !! lol

I think Mancini should stay as manager, he's done a great job with players that weren't his own. Ok, so we lost on Saturday.... the previous 3 games we scored 14 goals. We will never win anything if we keep chopping and changing managers. He's a young manager who has been successful in Italy and has started very well in this country. If we get rid of him, somebody else will snatch him up and WILL be successful. He needs a little more time and given his own transfer budget, just as Hughes was. Like Man City Dan I would prefer to keep Mancini over Mourinho for the same reasons that he has stated!
