Bodo/Glimt (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

What complacency to start a left back in a right wing role and to essentially play two young guys on their own at the back against a counterattacking side. Such a poor set up from the start, This is ALL in the coaching staff, not going to blame any one player.

We were fucking atrocious all over the pitch.
The injuries are not helping but injuries aren't an excuse when you witness some of the passages of play and braindead decisions from your best player.

Gonna be a long 4 months.

When we were 2 behind in the past, our players used to get together, rally and turn it around. Tonight Foden strolled off and shock his head. Haaland, Cherki, Lewis, O’Reilly, and even Alleyne showing decent to each other. Rodri showing a shocking lack of discipline. Pep walking off head down and not applauding fans that has made a mega difficult journey and after watching that. Was hairy hands right?
What has the Furry Paw said?

Fired-up underdogs, shit pitch, defensive mistakes, shit tactics, low confidence and player gets sent-off timed to kill any comeback. It happens.
(How the fuck we’re still on the edge of a title race is a complete mystery).
I’m questioning for the first time how Pep can fix this and motivate this team - I’m really not sure he can do it. Maybe time for a change for everyone’s benefit including Pep - this must be hurting him.

Just like United at the weekend, they were better than us in every single department.

Got to give Bodo a lot of credit but it’s hard to understand just how bad we’ve been recently.
Because we have reverted to last year when we don’t have the players to do what we did two years back! We started a new system this year and was coming on ok being more front footed and attacking now it’s back to side to side why!!!!

Before his red it was obvious Pep had to take Rodri off or get someone playing next to him.

Awful. No shape, no passion, no fucking idea.

Not much we can do at the moment except wait for all the injured players to come back and for the new signings to bed in. We hit much lower lows last season and wound up finishing 3rd and reaching the FA Cup final.

I think serious, serious questions need to be asked about Rodri, though. Other than the 45 minutes he had against Sunderland, he hasn't put in a good performance all season. Should we be giving him a new deal? Hmm.

Start again with Wolves on Saturday.
More of the same against wolves on Saturday I'd imagine

Off it goes. I needed a performance to forget the derby, fair play lads.

We've got a problem.
Yep, they sure did deliver.
a performance that makes the derby look good.

For me, the really bad thing about the last two games has been the lack of passion.
Obviously, Old Trafford was buzzing, full of passion on Saturday and tonight, Bodo was absolutely bouncing.
But the players seem unbothered, no desire, no fight, apart from possibly Donnarumma.
Say what you want, Max Alleyne is simply not yet good enough to play for a title winning team. Neither is khushanov unfortunately.
Rico is nowhere near good enough atm.
Really, really, really poor.
That’s as bad as it gets.
Reminds me of the Wigan loss except tonight, we didn’t even stand a chance.
It’s just really sad, and I can’t see the board staying behind Pep if we keep producing shit performances, shit results.
Obviously when Guehi and Dias come back and come in, things might get better defensively but from what I saw tonight, there is a much deeper problem that’s still there from last season.
