Bodo/Glimt (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

they didnt have to do anything and should have done nothing in my opinion. you dont follow abroad city to watch them win. you go because its an experience and something you enjoy - watching city with mates in interesting places around the world is the fun. this is a nice gesture, but also an unnecessary one IMO
You expect to see fight and effort.

Yesterday on the couch I told my Mrs, if I were them, I would pay every fucking pound (tickets, hotel, etc.) for every blue, who travelled there, because how I always said: You can lose, but not in that way. When the fans were shown on TV, I really felt sorry for them.
You could contribute to them anyway.

Impossible to do properly. The risk, as you allude to, is you can always lose a game. How they lost though, that’s their apology by paying for the tickets to the game. Anything else is an individual’s choice whilst they’re there. Pints, food etc.

This is more than enough and not necessary. They are clearly embarrassed and apologetic by the result and performance.

Oh please. It’s a PR exercise after a terrible defeat. twosips is right, they shouldn’t have done it.
Fair enough - if you can get irate about rich people giving non rich people money that they didn't owe them and wasn't asked for then fair enough. I don't care enough either way.

How many of our players are hoping to play for their National team in the World Cup?
Maybe they are holding back because they’re concerned they’ll get injured and miss out?
Hahaha a week or 2 before the end of the season.but certainly not 5 months

The positive - other than the fans getting some cash back - is that the squad acknowledge that the performance wasn’t acceptable for this club. They’ve not done this before off memory, so they realise they fucked up big time.

Last year Khus and Nico played in the playoffs...

Nico actually scored in Madrid. Marmoush also played in Madrid

Statement from captains Bernardo Silva, Ruben Dias, Erling Haaland, and Rodri:

"Our supporters mean everything to us. We know the sacrifice our fans make when they travel across the world to support us and we'll never take it for granted. They're the best fans in the world.

"We also recognise it was a lot of travelling for fans who supported us in the freezing cold throughout a difficult evening for us on the pitch. Covering the cost of tickets for the fans who travelled to Bodo is the least we can do.

"We're ready to fight on Saturday against Wolves and again next Wednesday when we face Galatasaray in front of our amazing fans at the Etihad."
Absolutely ridiculous decision. You pay to follow your team through choice and there should be no expectation of any reimbursements following a less than desirable result. Also a poor precedent to set , what if other fans spend more on a different away game and they deem the result worse than this, can they apply to to recompensed?, You pay your money and you take the chance the result / performance may not be as you would like , if it isn't you accept it and move on. I for one would like Pep to reimburse me for joining myself and 3 family members to the champions league cup scheme and him taking the choice to play a reserve team against Leverkusen in the freezing fucking cold and effectively throwing the game , but don't expect it to actually happen.
