Bodo/Glimt (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

Appreciate that costs are relative and away games are particularly expensive - but imagine going back to the late 90's and telling our younger selves that 25 years later we'd be demanding refunds for away CL games having won 17 trophies over a ten year period including 4 titles in a row, a treble, and a 100 point season.

Hahahahahahahaha. It's genuinely mad what this football club has become and how it's changed the face of the supporter base.

Absolutely ridiculous decision. You pay to follow your team through choice and there should be no expectation of any reimbursements following a less than desirable result. Also a poor precedent to set , what if other fans spend more on a different away game and they deem the result worse than this, can they apply to to recompensed?, You pay your money and you take the chance the result / performance may not be as you would like , if it isn't you accept it and move on. I for one would like Pep to reimburse me for joining myself and 3 family members to the champions league cup scheme and him taking the choice to play a reserve team against Leverkusen in the freezing fucking cold and effectively throwing the game , but don't expect it to actually happen.
I think this game taking place in the Arctic circle in lower than freezing conditions, on a midweek night, probably makes it a bit different to a home game. Understand where you're coming from though.

Nice gesture, but what a load of bollocks, I guarantee 95% + of them lot who were there last night wouldnt want it either.

More pertinent is we got allocated 404 and only sold 374, yet sold out at 28k points, why have the club siphoned 30 tickets off the allocation?

Yeah, I've been hunting out my tram ticket from Saturday. £4.90 that cost, the absolute bastards :-)

If we’re playing the blame game, it’s Haaland and Rico for the first, Alleyne for the second, and Rodri for the third.
Ok. So a full back has no obligation to cover the back post when a cross comes in as long as a player further up the field has misplaced a pass in the moments before.

Genuinely some of the worst fans in football on this forum and the fact they laugh at Arsenal, Liverpool, utd fans etc.
A good look in the mirror would be nice.

It’s definitely a nice gesture but this is like me donating £5 to a leaving present at work. Flights, Annual leave, hotels, food and drinks. These trips are often super expensive. Covering a ticket is nice but let’s be honest, this is small change for these players.

Maybe I’m missing the point, you definitely don’t look a gift horse in the mouth. It’s great they’ve done something at least
A matter of logistics. They already have a record of exactly how much the tickets cost.

Do you seriously expect somebody to sift through thousands of receipts with a calculator? Or should they just trust everybody's expenses claim?

Quite a sweeping statement really. What's the criteria for being the worst out of interest?

Whilst I do agree with this, it should be noted that pretty much everyone under the age of 35 have for the most part in their lives only known City be good.

That under 35 support, especially now considering how popular we are now abroad, is probably our biggest support population and probably didn't have a father or mother who passed that City support onto them and remind them how bad we once were and where we came from. You see this evidently on social media.

There is a huge divide in our fanbase at the moment with regards to expectation.

You have the over 35s/ 40s who lived through dross and are happy with a league cup and then you have a huge section of the under 35s who have predominantly only seen us as a top football club and anything other than challenging for the league title and CL is failure.

Finishing 2nd for a lot of them is seen as a sackable offence.

Only PSG fans can relate to this in the game. Our fanbase and theirs have a before and after moment.

Chelsea don't. They had a transition period before Roman where they were actually quite a decent team and picked up some big trophies and we're there or thereabouts in the top 4.

Fair enough - if you can get irate about rich people giving non rich people money that they didn't owe them and wasn't asked for then fair enough. I don't care enough either way.

i dont believe that these guys don't care. i believe that some might be mentally a bit weak, but that doesn't mean they don't care...certainly not a reason to demand a refund. football isn't transactional like this

I'd disagree actually as at the moment we are high risk/no reward. We are so far up the pitch as a unit that there is no space and everything is very congested. On top of that, a misplaced pass instantly creates a 2 v 2 or 3 v 3 break. Its suicidal
I meant we are low risk in the opposition eyes.

What I don’t get on here, people moan when the club don’t listen to the fans and don’t do this don’t do that, when the club do something for the fans, and yes I was one of the 400 in bodo, people still moan.I wasn’t expecting anything but what a nice gesture,it’s like the old saying can’t do right for doing wrong

Don’t agree with refunding the travelling fans seeing as it wasn’t a lot who went there money wise it’s not that much for players too!

Imagine we had league two club in the cup they have a ground where the allocation is around 4K and the performance as bad would they not deserve to paid back? It’s a road with good intentions and I do believe the players care but Nahh don’t do it..
