Bodo/Glimt (A) | CL | Post Match Thread

I couldn’t predict any City result these days, which reflects how inconsistent we have been for a good while now..
Hopefully we can put Wolves to sleep in style this weekend and get back on track ..
This result was worse than the score reflects, utter fuckin shambles from start to finish …

It's not a week though is it? It's the last 18 months, although there seemed to be some light at the end of the tunnel before Xmas.
True. But the last week has topped anything from last year. Tired players and injuries cannot be dosmissed out of hand, but the abject failure to compensate for this by revising our approach to counter the obvious limitations, is scandalous. Pep has recently closed his restaurant in Manchester it seems to me that he might be soon closing his bank account in the City too.

Opta thinks we will still do it.

Click on predicted…

One has to admit it is an exciting finish. Personaly I believe we should be going straight to QF's With the next 8 heading into the lower competitions.
It looks like we might lose out on top 8 on GD even if we win on Wednesday. After Norway we don't deserve it anyway.

Are you confident we will smash Wolves? I will be amazed if we get three points.

I’m starting to think we might smash them because with the tickets thing and now a bunch of the players posting on instagram that “we’ll turn this around together” it feels like Pep is trying to turn this result into a turning point for the rest of the season.

Guehi will come in, hopefully Nico is back, Semenyo can play.

Sorry but this result was a knocking bet, we have played badly against hard working big, quick teams for years, that is Peps way, football first. The worst thing about this result was it exposed Max, he may well feel he is to blame, but he had no support, you look at those that should have been there to support and find they needed support. This game just reminded me of Ajax.

Starting all of Foden, Haaland, Cherki, Reijinders, Lewis, Ait-Nouri, none of whom are good on defense is ridiculous. Of course we lost!

Super high line with little pressure on the ball.

Alleyne had a terrible game and contributed to this mess; as did Rodri's sending off.

But FFS!.. we need players who are technically sound and who can defend. Eliot Anderson is a must next window. And a few more of his ilk.

Max needed more support throughout but I'm afraid their second goal was down to him and him alone for not initially controlling the ball or sticking it into Row Z.

But overall he's done well since being recalled from Watford.

Max had a bad game - it happens.

But I was more upset with his defending for the first goal - makes a risky attempt to cut off the initial ball which he misses and we're in trouble, doesn't seem to be sprinting all out to get back into position - and then is caught ball watching with a wide open opponent behind him who heads the ball into our goal with no defensive pressure whatsoever.

Agreed that Max was partly culpable for their first goal but we still had plenty of Blue shirts back but they were all ball watching. Have a look at how Aït-Nouri was with the goal scorer at one point then just let him drift unmarked to the back post. Really poor.
