You answered your own question. Perhaps it's because of people like you who turn their back on their home town team.

How very boring.

You don't have out of town fans?

Irony.

Well that was not the question I asked, did you read my post or just choose to quote what suited you?
For your benefit here is the full paragraph
They have a hardcore loyal following of maybe 15,000 but what annoys me is they don't half come crawling out of the woodwork when they get a run of a few wins together. Season tickets are fairly cheap and the deals they have for kids and under 21's makes me wonder why they can't fill there horrible stadium?

So come on SOB what's the answer? Its certainly not because 10,000 Bolton folk support out of town teams!
I chose to support City when I was 10 and stuck with them! Why do you have an issue with that?
They are here they are there they are every fucking where, empty seats... empty seats....
Why are they empty? Because you have the most fickle fans in the Premiership, not because I and a few others from Bolton are City fans..

It was only 2 years back when City crowds were dropping to around 40 k the reason being you were rubbish and many manchester folk preferred to support Man U, last week you got 37k 10000 empty seats despite a fiver for adults and quid for kids, but still you blues pipe on about being the greatest fans in the universe, if that was so maybe you would sell out every week and have a waiting list, the fact is you don't sell out every week, you have a large swathe of fickle part timers just as we have.

Why do you have to keep making constant refernces to the rags when discussing us?
As I said to you before,it's typical of many of the Bolton fans I've met.
So desperate to try and score a point that you'll use anything to be a sad WUM-even the team you pupport to hate.

Very, very sad and boring little yonner WUM.
Be off with you.

How Bolton fans operate (don't worry, sister raping isn't included in this family friendly post)

You tell him you're a blue and he says - 'I hate those munich bastards as much as you mate'
You tell him you're a rag and he says - 'I hate those blue nosed bastards mate'

They're the younger, rubber helmet wearing brother of Lancs/Gtr Manchester football, they'll do anything to fit in and win approval, they have no morales, ethics, sense, hygiene or friends and most of them are indeed 'united first, then Bolton' if you're lucky they'll explain how despite being from Bolton (most of them never leave) their granddad was 'Best, Busby or Charlton' hence their deep love of the rags.

Lecturing Boltonians about being 'fickle' is f**king rich coming from a plastic 'Manc' like you. There's nothing more pitiful than someone born and bred in one town deciding to support a team in another city and then slagging off their home town team in a desperate attempt to ingratiate themselves with the natives. You're every bit as fake as those 'Utd supporters' who travel up from London every other weekend.

Hello, I'm ESL missus.
Firstly, Bolton is in Greater Manchester.
Secondly, my husband had the good fortune of having a friend whos dad was pretty stinking rich, and used to alternate between Bolton/City/United every weekend. He spent a good couple of seasons at all three grounds as a kid.
He will probably explain this himself why he chose to support City.
I have lived in Bolton since I was ten, some 23 years, and Bolton fans are some of the most fickle I have ever come across.
Since I met my husband ten seasons ago, he has converted me to football and this year we got married in our City shirts in Vegas.
I thank god every day that he wasn't a Bolton fan.
