Bony (Season long loan at Stoke - Official)

The phase should have ended with Wayne Bridge, Roque Santa Cruz, Emmanuel Badbuyor and co. Absolutely ridiculous how much we pay some of these fringe players or backups (both on transfers and wages) then when it comes to sale time we are lucky to get a single bean back, ending up in a further deficit when we allow them all to go on loan till the end of their contracts and pay half their wages, crazy.

This was a terrible buy to begin with, even for Pellers.....

Nothing against the Bony, I'm sure he's a nice guy, but he is a number 9 who is extremely technically limited and is a square peg in this squad.

edit: He could definitely do a job at Stoke. Praying this goes through

Looking at how far things are with various players, I think Bony is the one least likely to go through. Hart, mangala and nasri looking close to done now

Don't understand the moaning about wages.
You can't buy a player for 28m and pay him 20k a week

Why did we ever need to offer Bony big wages in the first place? A striker, from Swansea.. If he wasn't practically begging us to sign why were we even at the table? Is this a top down directive about handsomely rewarding players? As in the very top? I cant think why else we would chuck unshiftable wages at Bony after the amount of lessons we've had about this exact thing since the takeover. It literally comes up with every single senior player we try and get rid of.

I swear to god one day we'll have a player crawl through the doors at the CFA, bloodied and beaten, he'll tell stories of how he fought his way across three continents to come and play for his boyhood club, how Bell was his hero, how he cheered when Dickov scored, how shit it was at York away, that he only wanted the honour of wearing the shirt in front of 50000 City fans, and we'd give him 150k a week.

60 odd million on Mangala and Bony blows my mind.
