Bony (Season long loan at Stoke - Official)

For starters, 20 mil was probably the actual value for bony in the first place when city signed him, so you would probably get someone more suited to the city squad for the same or a little extra for "city tax".

Secondly, whenever aguero is fit? That ain't much lately. There is plenty of chances to play coming into the city side as a striker at present, especially with kelechi being unable to play champs league games, and pellers refusal to give the kid more than 10 mins...

Aubameyang is rumored to be going for around the 55 mil euro mark...whats that in sterling?

He'd be worth throwing some cash in for, someone with terrifying pace, who actually plays off the shoulder of defense...something bony clearly doesnt have in his locker, and something that city REALLY need at present, especially with sergio looking static in the last two games. Although that wont last to be fair.

Who's suited to the squad though? We bought Bony knowing full well what he's capable of and what he isn't capable of, it's not his fault we are asking him to do things that isn't in his game. We obviously bought him with the mindset of having an alternative option to our style yet never utilise that option.

As for his value, you put Bony in the West Ham side as first choice striker playing every week and having the team play to his strengths, he'd fire them in for fun like he did at Swansea and would elevate West Ham or a similar team from midtable also rans to serious European contenders. To that kind of team he's easily worth what we paid for him in this market, imo.

With regards to being second choice to Aguero, it's less about actual game time and more about them being willing to accept that regardless of how well you play you'll always be second choice to Aguero when both are fit. It's not an easy thing to accept and not everyone is willing to accept that.

I'm not convinced by Aubameyang personally, who has just said he's not leaving Dortmund anyway but if we want a striker to play on the shoulder of the last defender, we have one already in Sterling.

Ffs, when have I ever said that I have evidence for anything? Maybe it was Pellers idea for all I know but that doesnt excuse how under played he has been after starting the season very promising

You've basicaly said you think Pellegrini didn't want him anywhere near the first team, despite all the evidence to the contrary and the fact he's the one kid pellegrini has promoted and played. Perhaps there's a great reason he's not playing him every week just yet, I seem to remember jizzjazz getting played everyweek and look how that ended up.

Erm.......

My recent past might stretch a little further back than what would be commonly accepted as 'recent past'!

Just continue to put words in my mouth.

Its a difference between getting matched softly, and hardly getting played at all

There's a million miles between 5 minutes here and there and playing every week. So your point carries no weight at all.

Strongest CF in the league by far, great attitude, and we dont nearly play to his strengths.

Go on then I'll have a nibble.
Strongest In the league? Nope
Looks like a body builder plays like the tea lady.
Great attitude? The first half at Stoke. Say no more.
We don't play to his strengths?
And his strengths are?
I'm hoping that bony ends up like the goat, absolutely dog when he first came but he grafted, stuck 2 fingers up at the boo boys and started doing the simple things and scored a shit load.
Bony could do with watching the goats old clips and maybe he'll find that extra bit of desire and work rate.

Bony could be replaced by anyone really. Lets face it, what exactly does Bony offer that other players couldnt? He simply hasnt been a fit, and is already looking like he will join the long list of strikers flops. Jo 20m, RSC 20m, Robinho 32m, Adebayor 25m, Jovetic 22 and now Bony 29m. What in the F? Why do we get it so worng that often?? All this money, and we F up as many times as we get it right.

It's a litany of disappointing strikers isn't it. I think with some we've been a bit desperate and paid a lot, raising expectations of average players. Others haven't settled, or had too many injuries, or sometimes just haven't performed.

My opinion is we've chased too many second or third tier strikers instead of just biting the bullet and paying what it costs for absolute top level. If we signed Lewandowski, Neymar, Müller or possibly Benzema I don't think we'd be disappointed.

You get what you pay for. And because of the 'City tax' clubs add when we're interested, we've paid close to top tier prices for average players. We should just go and get the very best like we did with Kun, and before that Tevez.
