Bony (Season long loan at Stoke - Official)

Makes me laugh everyone saying certain players don't suit peps system when no-one but him knows how he will set up
To be honest, it's getting fucking tiresome. I very much doubt if the vast majority on here have watched his team's any more than I have - the odd highlights packages, and Bayern taking us apart. It's strange that Guardiola will be able to make good players brilliant, whereas others can fuck off as they won't suit his style. I tend to believe that most of this is based on whether the poster likes a player or not.

It's exactly that, people hoping he gets rid of players they don't like,i take the view he has discarded some,Aleks and zabba, but everyone else will get a chance

I really had enough of him last season. When Aguero was injured he didn't step up and he's easy to lose the ball. The only time he played well for me was when he linked up with Sterling for Sterling's hat trick.

I just can't believe how a once Dutch player of the year with a ratio of more than a goal a season has fallen from grace. With Pep coming I hope he returns to his true form, but if the signs are there I say get rid in January. Irrespective of whatever happens to him if he becomes a 15+ goal a season striker, we need to get another striker in. We had it once with Aguero, Negredo, Dezko and Jovetic. There was no drought in goals.

Aguero, a new striker, Iheanacho, Bony. Assess how he is until January.

Wish i can quote this in every thread where posters talk about who they see getting sold. There's been very few rumors of him actually leaving as well as genuine strike replacements.

In 13/14 we had Aguero, Negredo and Dzeko. Jovetic was just a peripheral figure.

So we really had 3, maybe 3.5 strikers. And that was playing 2 up front.

Playing 1 up front we don't need more than Aguero and Nacho.

Even if we did, Pep always has his squads light up front. At Barcelona he only ever had 4 players for the front 3. At Bayern he had no back up for Lewandowksi except moving Müller up front.

I think it's most likely he will see it like this-

Aguero and Nacho are the strikers. If both of them are out of action, Sané is earmarked for being a future striker in Germany, he's got the height and strength to do it.

Sterling would be a viable 4th choice in an emergency, as would Silva who has played false 9 a lot for Spain, and Nolito has the movement and finishing to do it too.

Then there's kids in the academy to turn to.

With those options I doubt Pep will feel the need for a third striker.

And that's probably why we haven't been seriously linked with any.

I get the impression that you rather we sell Bony now. I can live with that. Rather have space for Sané, or Suarez.

And as peripheral as Jovetic was, he had more goals than Bony in far less games. Still the right decision to let him go though. Not setting Serie A alight.

Yeah I think we sell bony now. Either as part of the Stones deal as some have rumoured, or to one of the midtable cubs with new to cash.
