Going away in a few weeks, I like a couple of books to read while on the plane and just general loafing about, I prefer autobiographies and factual books so what would you recommend,
I will be getting Andy Morrison's book to take, will probably have finished Pete Postlethwaite and Robbie Savage.

Pimp: The Story of My Life by Iceberg Slim.

Cant say ive ever heard of him, will have a mooch though.

Chicago pimp in the 1930's. Squared up after his third jail term and became a writer. 'Pimp' was his debut, but he wrote some superb novels after that.

I bet Robbie is a good read but my faves have been Jonny Wilkinson and Sir Clive Woodward.

In terms of factual you could have any subject such as history, science or maths.

Misha Glenny about the Balkans.
Jonathan Glancey about the spitfire
God created the integers by Stephen Hawking

Personally my fave is Charles Handy's - the empty rain coat - read it in 12 hours.

Anything by Bill Bryson...

If you like factual try 'A Short History of Nearly Everything' by the above author.

I'm much more into fiction tbh.

All the Ben Mezrich books are very entertaining, most famous is "bringing down the house" which was made into the shit Kevin spacey film, 21, the true story of some MIT students who took Vegas for millions. The other books are accounts of true events.

Victoria Coren's poker book also very good.

The best sports book I've ever read is "the miracle of casto di sangro" which is a true story about a small Italian footie team. Amazing read.
