Least favourite book of the year
Notes from a Small Island by Bill Bryson - Just very dated.

Favourite book of the year
Titanium Noir by Nick Harkaway - Can this author do no wrong?

Happy to (just about) surpass the 50 books mark (even if some of them were novella's) and almost a tenth of them were translations. Still need to work on my gender disparity though it's not quite as bad as it looks due to reading multiple books from the same authors.

Happy New Year to all and I wish you splendid reading for the year ahead.

Have just ordered “Titanic and Other Ships” the autobiography of Charles Lightoller who was the highest ranking officer to survive the Titanic sinking.

He also served in the Navy in WW1 and sailed to Dunkirk to rescue troops in his own boat.

Sounds a remarkable story.
Recommend Titanic sinks tonight on BBC 2 drama documentary in four parts .

What were best and worst read of the year for you?

Best: tie between

We'll Prescribe you a Cat (Syou Ishida) and Keep on Running - highs and lows of a marathon addict (Phil Hewitt

Worst: Fairy Tale (Stephen King) by some distance
read fairy tale about 30 years ago, absolutely brilliant book, my favourite by that author. Funny how opinions differ
