Books to avoid

I've never liked that Paddington Bear, if I saw him in the street I'd give him a good flame-throwering, and see what that did to his chunks.

Caramelise them I'd guess.

I was joking, I'd give him a brush and a cake.

any of Welsh's books apart from Trainspotting and Glue but especially 'bedroom secrets of the master chefs'

Proust's A la Recherche du Temps Perdu is bobbins as is Gabriel García Márquez’s One Hundred Years of Solitude.

Oh hang on, I'm not standing for that - you can't beat a bit of magic realism, and Marquez is the master.

'Crime and Punishment' by Dostoevsky was a slog. I thought I would enjoy it more than I did, because 'The House of the Dead' is great.

"Zen and the art of Motorcycle maintenance" absolute shite gave up after chapter 2

Given to me by a particulary fit bird I wished to impress by reading (as she had done) and then subsequent leg-over.

I achieved neither the book nor the leg over.... happy days. Still like to rip the back out of her.

Lord of the Rings. I made it to page two. That was enough.

Me too. All the daft names put me off.

i read books like i was there, like one of the characters, imurse your self in the books world,i do that with all books i read and at the end of it you either love it or have hated the experiance, and belive me TLOTR trilogy was unreal.

I agree. I preferred the books to the movies. I also feel like I am in a book
