I know there is a thread like this hourly but can anyone recommend any good footy books.
I have read Colin Bell: Reluctant hero, Blue moon: Down amongst the dead men with man city, Kicked into touch ect.
Thanks guys.

A Season With Verona by Tim Parks

Football against the Enemy by Simon Kuper is THE best book on football I've read. It's years old now but you may get a copy on Amazon.
Strangely enough, Tony Cascarino's autobiography is excellent, a brutally honest account of a journeyman footballer. No sign of a warped ego being massaged which is what a lot of footballers come out with.
Stay away from the hoolie porn, they're all the same. There's something quite homoerotic about a bunch of grown men in their 'designer clobber' 'fronting' the oppostion as the book says!

Robin Friday - The Greatest football you never saw by Paul McGuigan and Paolo Hewitt is a good book. Not particularly engrossing, but well worth a read. The bloke was clearly mental

That is a great book, fascinating read.
You can find a couple of grainy video's of him on youtube btw.

Excellent! I'll go have a look.

By saying it wasnt engrossing i wasnt knocking it by the way! The diary form of it meant it was more of a dip in and out whilst on the toilet/train sortof thing as opposed to a proper autobiography or novel type thing!

Thoroughly enjoyed it
