Got myself one of those book readers not so long ago and have just finished the hunger games trilogy. Anyone got any 'must read' recommendations?

Game of Thrones. Nothing else in the genre comes close.

Game of Thrones or Steven Kings "Dark Tower" series

I was enjoying the dark tower until he climbed into his own arse. What a wanker.

Bit harsh. Lost his way over the years with the whole DT thing but the guy is far from being a wanker. Follow-up to The Shining out in a few months - should be good!

No denying he's a great writer, The Stand and It are two of my favourite books. However, I've found his biggest flaw is that he doesn't know how to end his books. Too many of them have really shit endings. Even The Stand, which is in my top 5, has a really poor ending.

and any writer who writes himself as a character in his own book, definitely needs to climb out of his own arse

Agree read his book IT cracking read over 1500 pages ruined by how it ends!

Dean Koontz is for me a better writer
