Boooom

That's an good question as we have to comply with the PL's version of FFP which limits wage increases.

The main way of accommodating the newcomers is if there's as many going out as coming in. That's can be hit and miss depending on who we can actually shift but I'd guess that's where the bulk of the savings we need will come from.

So I'd assume Yaya's wage would be one of those we'd be most keen to shift, which alone could possibly cover three newcomers. And it's funny that from saying he can't wait to go, he's now saying the opposite. I suspect that's a negotiating ploy to get as advantageous an exit as possible. But one would assume that as we can only have a squad of a certain size, it'll be one in and one out. So if we get say Gundogan and Pogba, then it'll be Yaya & Fernando making way for them. A new left back would see Kolarov out. Stones/Laporte would replace Mangala. Etc.

Additional ticket revenue could cover someone like Pogba's wages but it hardens my suspicion that we've got some big commercial deals lined up
Do Peps wages come under the rule? That will be a very significant increase on Pellegrini

Would paying Yaya off count towards the PL's wage limits seeing as we'd be paying off a part of his remaining wages or whatever?

Should we be adding Chelsea's 20% to ours and Real's chances, making it 50/50??
If it's between us and Madrid, I would imagine Madrid would be his 1st choice, but that would leave a great chance to get Kroos, Isco.

I gather thats what we will do but easier said than done. I feel signings wont be done and dusted quickly this summer because we want players out the door first.

Swap that percentage for Paris over to Chelsea.
Not bad effort :)

He wants at least champs league, Real could happen depending what they sell & they may go for Hazard & De Gae. Paris is the easy choice but I would say he wants to play his football in England to show UTD what they let go. He can always go to Madrid after City so we would hope Pep & the chance to show the premier league how good he is would make us slight favourites

Correct me if I'm wrong but Manchester is quiet a commute from Catalonia...................

La Republica are a Turin based media outlet. Bang goes that dream.

I wonder if they might be some horse trading with Real. If we're genuinely interested in Kroos or Isco we might step aside on Pogba?

The fact that Chelsea even have a chance worries me a lot about what Pogba's priorities are. No Champions League, a big rebuild needed with a manager new to the league. Chelsea may struggle for Champions League again next season.

Ahahaha, this fucking nonsense. The company he used to buy the house even released a statement at the time specifically to stop speculation and the media still spout shite.

However, a statement released by his real estate agency Proto Group Ltd claims that the purchase is not football-related.

“The purchase of a villa in Barcelona is in no way related to footballing matters,” said the company's director general, as reported by La Repubblica. “It is purely an estate investment.

“We wish to state this publicly because our client is a famous footballer and under great media attention in this period, so that this operation will certainly be reported by the Spanish newspapers, fuelling journalistic speculation that we do not wish to encourage.

“The same thing happened a few weeks ago with Lionel Messi, who purchased an attic in Paris through us, or Cristiano Ronaldo who bought an attic in New York.”

Madrid won't want to miss out to little old city....I will piss myself if we get him, I don't think we will, purely because im a glass half empty man, and a proper negative miserable bastard. cheers for the info as always mate

There was a report this morning from Spain (Cadena cope I believe) saying they were looking for a more defensive midfielder than Pogba

The usual process for Madrid, if they are going to miss out, is leak to the press that they want a specific type of player and that pogba wouldn't fit the requirements for example

Its fucking mad all this, proper excited

Correct.

I'd say that's 50/50 at the moment.

If the deals that are done or well advanced all come off then we'll spend that (and those don't include Pogba). There are other potential ones that could push that to well over £400m. Even if Pogba doesn't happen we could easily end up spending something like £375m this summer I believe. Add Pogba or Kroos in and that could be £450m+.

We couldn't spend much the next couple of summers if that's the case unless there's some huge new commercial deals in place but the fact we feel confident that we can spend that amount in one hit suggests there might be some on the way.

Nah can't see it mate. Hope I'm wrong, on all counts
