I've never voted Tory or ever had much time for Boris, but I think his lockdown speech was commendable. It was almost Churchill like in resilience I think. I wish him a speedy recovery and hope he can go on to being a fine prime minister.

I can't ever bring myself to vote Tory though, especially after Maggie's legacy in northern working class Britain. Sorry.

Eeeeeh!!! them wert dias.

So he was at death’s door then? Everybody already knew it but not sure why No.10 has to come out and give us spin about it being precautionary. It just needlessly makes more people doubt the integrity of everything that No.10 has to say.

I think the daily message of “he’s in good spirits” was the wrong one. They should have been up front and honest, which may have made more people sit up and take notice.

He says it was touch and go at one point, for fuck’s sake! That’s not “precautionary”.

I’ve said this previously, but I feel like since Boris went into hospital, some people have acted as if “the boss is away so we can get away with more” and have flaunted the part-lockdown rules. I think playing down the seriousness of his illness didn’t help with this neither.

1,132 Police incidents with dispersing gatherings in Greater Manchester last weekend. Car travel up across the country from the previous week. And lots of us, even on here, seeing instances of people not following the rules and more people out and about than previously.

I think the harsh truth would have been a better message!

I also think telling the truth is better because we all see Raab and Co with a bit less trust now we know they weren’t telling us straight.

But good to see him out of hospital and hopefully people start to listen to the leader when he’s back.

Boris Has Risen, happy are those called to the supper. Get well soon boss and it needs saying that your timings impeccable. If Carlsberg did insults .."Great supine protoplasmic invertebrate jellies" Quite quite brilliant. An incredible down to earth human being.

This is a heartfelt & very emotional statement from Boris..

Listening to that it could easily be a turning point for Boris's Conservatives and see them prioritising the NHS and it's issues to the same tune the Labour Party wants them to address, which can only be a positive move for everyone.
