Boro Post Match thread

The club will sort it all out close season. The deadwood will be gone and we will buy players that fit the system we are trying to play. I am as frustrated as anyone but let's see what happens next season. We need 4th so let's grind it out over the next few games otherwise Khaldoon's bare minimum will be an awkward moment. Let the media have the last laugh this season, it will be more sweeter when we really start to play the Pep system with the right players next season. Full backs are key decisions.

I had a feeling it would be shite. Went to watch guardians of the galaxy vol 2. It was brilliant and not frustrating in the slightest.
Do you only watch if you think we're gonna win? I'm guessing if we were in the hunt for the title, going to watch a superhero film would be the last thing you'd be doing! You sound like the rags who have/are "going off football" because they're struggling and not winning things.

Fairly convinced you will have another year of kolarov, I'm afraid.
Fucking hope not. I thought we'd seen the end of him at leftback tbh, but Clichy has been so fucking awful that Pep's had to resort to trying him there again and if anything he's gotten even slower. At least he's still got the ability to aimlessly hoof the ball into the stands three times a game

Well it was an exciting game I guess. Their first was a counter, which underlined the need for us to be a bit more clinical in the final 3rd. The changes helped, Sané used his speed, and some rare luck, for the pen which Agüero took nicely. Their 2nd goal maybe showed how we need to be more clinical at the back too. A great header by Jesus, assisted by Sergio who gets my vote for motm, and I really hope to see more of these two together in future.

If we getting similar performances and formations when pep gets his players thats when he should be question this team needs a lot of work and more players who can play the pep system.

No shame in a point away to a team fighting for their life. We will be better next season.

oh my god. how dare you have some perspective and post something sensible. some fans on here dont know how to handle losing, defeat or even a draw at all.

2-2 - pep out !!, sell aguero..........

Terrible set up. Mystifying decision to make 2 tactical subs on 48 minutes instead of HT. Players strolling around expecting an easy game. Today was well below what is expected of the Messiah and these highly paid but unmotivated bunch of players. Far too many of these 'off' days happening and 'don't worry, it will all be ok next season'-type sentiments. Just watched Chelsea systematically take a good Everton team apart at Goodison 3-0. We're a country mile off that standard.

I'm amazed, when Chelsea are dominating the league playing three at the back, people are saying the formation will never work.

Perhaps we just have a squad half full of players who are too old or just not good enough - as everyone has been saying all season.

Some people on here are complete balloons.

Pep is underestimating the prem and paying the price..
Don't like seeing diving at all but it will be interesting who gets the media backlash, Sane or Rashford.

Don't think he is underestimating the league, just think he's overestimating some of our players ;-)

At least maybe now people will stop moaning about Pep not giving youth a chance. I like Aleix García but he was nowhere near the right man for the job.

Poor result again. It's like we will be handed a bonus for keeping 4th spot race alive.

As ever in hindsight but playing Clichy as the wide wingback? Really Pep and your 15 men team around you.

It has become pretty much like last season. Pellers wasn't too bad after all getting a League Cup and semi final Chimps League. But he never got the respect he should've deserved. I very much trust Pep but the learning curve should be over starting the 1st competitive game next season.

Right then, the match thread was a bit disappointing with some of the comments especially about Pep a bit of an over reaction. This could prove to be a very important point. Home games to come, I fully expect a top four finish. The main positive for me was the return of Jesus, I don't think we have any other player in the squad who would have scored with that header. Too many times have we seen header after header go over the bar. Also I thought Sane was a constant threat when he came on, he's played a lot and maybe needed a gentle reminder that he has to do what comes naturally. The fact is that whereas I am also disappointed with our season ultimately what do we expect with Kolarov and Navas at fullbacks? The defence is a bit of a mess and is the area that needs the overhaul. Komps and Ottamendi are both last ditch style players and for me I hope Stones will improve as he has great potential. Kolarov as others have said will shoot from ridiculous positions and his overlapping runs do not help Sane at all - he is not a clever footballer and needs to go. Navas in the team shows how poorly the cover we have at right back is. Time and again he is the one who gets the ball in good positions and elects to either go back - which slows us down and allows the opposition to set themselves - or hits the first man attempting a cross. I have to believe that Pep can see what we see and change it - two good fullbacks will transform our team as it will add a further dimension especially when teams set up with 8 behind the ball. If and it's a big if Pep fails to alter this, then I will start to question what he's doing.

Today Boro were fighting for their lives and on reflection it's a good point. No matter about performance we just need a further 9/10 points to get CL football. I live in hope.

entertaining game. Showed a lot of bottle.

This was do or die for Boro and we went into the game with Wembley and the Derby in our legs. And missing Silva, yet some of you just expect to take the 3 points?

You criticise Guardiola, but you should know that these games can be very difficult.

Maybe Pep will realise it is tough in the PL and these games can be difficult. Too many changes in match day teams - 220 and counting
