Borussia Dortmund (H) | CL | Post Match Thread

Great result, could have had a couple more with a fraction of luck. We played well but not brilliantly but to play like that and Score 4 I’d take every week.

Looked a bit shaken after conceding but then settled it down again.

Great win, let’s see what Sunday brings

Foden Haaland Donnarumma Rodri Cherki all playing well regularly, is enough to win the league, and maybe more.

As mentioned, a lot of others are improving too.

It makes those blips at Villa and Brighton hard to fathom?

i wonder how pissed off dias was having to miss last 30 minutes of busted mcfly concert because city fell asleep again for 20 minutes we just started pissing about so frustrating

When we switched to a back 5, i thought, hmmm... I see something here

........................... Haaland...................
............Cherki..................Uncle Phil............: Reilly.............Nico........Rodri...............Nunes
...........Gvardiol......Dias.........Stones..........
.........................Donnarumma.........................

This is our best 11. Pep! Do your thing.

Foden performing at his top level tonight was a delight to see.

Ive been critical of Sav but that was his best performance in a long time

We were very good going forward but I also think we were a bit wide open defensively and sloppy in the second half...that needs to get better if we are to have a hope of winning the big prizes this season

4 albsolutely great goals as well...

It’s because we have a lot of inexperienced players in the squad. Many are either young in years or early in their experience of English football that those blips against Brighton and Villa will maybe happen another four times this season because with inexperience comes inconsistency.

I’ve said previously that I think we’ll be the top scorers in the league, play the best football and will give some teams a right hiding… but eventually the inconsistent performances will see us just fall short this season.

I’d love to be wrong, but I just think it’s one season too soon with so many players in the squad 23 and under, signing 8 players in 2025 who are in the squad now (another 4 on loan), so many players who’ve never won anything in their careers and even a chunk who have but weren’t key players in their team at the time.

Great result that. Some good goals, an entertaining game and 3 big points. Foden superb and Doku also excellent - Savinho even contributed as well and limited his daft waving at the crowd. Pep also made the right subs when we took our foot off the gas. Cherki will be a huge fan favourite and he'll also give Pep a coronary every time he backheel flicks it in his own final third.

Win the 2 remaining homes, get something at Bodo Glimt and we should make the top 8.

As an aside I've been coming to the Etihad 20 plus years from the Middleton area, and tonight was without doubt the worst traffic I can ever recall. A combo of bonfire night and full houses for City and McBusted at the Co-op led to a cocktail of fuckwittery and an overall shitshow on the roads. What is normally a 20 min journey to park up, took the best part of 50 mins. Special shoutout to the knobhead drivers on Oldham Road, many deliberately entering box junctions and blocking traffic from being able to get across - selfish dicks.

M60 was broken (yet again) at J19 (Heaton Park/Three Arrows) and that messed up traffic on all surrounding routes.
