Borussia Dortmund (H) | CL | Post Match Thread

Indeed. He is finally starting to morph into his infamous mentor the legendary David Silva. Picking the ball up in tight spaces anywhere around the pitch and starting dangerous movements. He also of course has an eye for goal which even the great Merlin didn't have to the same extent. This could barring injury be his best season yet.
He did playing for Spain ;-)

Savinho gave their defence a torrid time and beat his man repeatedly. It was his first good game since Huddersfield.

Savinho's first real mistake was over half an hour into the game and a bunch of fans who couldn't get behind the team threw their hands up in the air.
Looks like I'm gonna have to eat my words cos id given up on Savinho weeks ago.
Pep keeps picking him,and that was a top team in the champions league so the trust from the manager is clear to see.
If im wrong about the player,I'll be delighted,as the signs are he's beating a man at wil,and going back to the villa game those two brilliant volleys in quick sucesssion suggest he can be an explosive finisher too.
I've always loved wingers going back to Peter Barnes at City...Are we going to see Sav come of age this season?

This is his third rebuild. Possession is less important and he is encouraging ball-carriers like Cherki, Nunez, Doku, Foden, O’Reilly, Gonzalez. It is a radical change in formation and system. The media morons have not woken up to what is happening yet. This will be a great team, perhaps not till next season. Fantastic to watch the transition.
But always remember the words of Paul merson...." mancity ,nah,I don't see a top team there"

A big win, a largely excellent performance but still that period where we were under pressure and couldn't do anything to wrestle control back. I look at this team with the hope to see us back at the very top, winning the league or CL so whilst I'm being overly critical, it is alarming we have had periods like that in so many games.

For me it comes from us trying to score more goals and giving the ball away. Someone needs to step up and calm things down and just look to keep the ball. At 3-1 we didn't need to do anything but keep possession and see the game out. The team needs to learn that quite quickly.
It's gonna be a exciting,tricky ride.
