I have copied their line-up for their last game vs Augsburg below.

I believe Guirassy is their main goalscorer. From memory, Adeyemi is very quick. I recognise quite a few names from Premier League football and City's academy, e.g., Nmecha and Couto. Jobe Bellingham was on the bench.

I don't know what to expect from them. Some of their more well known players don't seem to be around any more e.g., Hummels

I watched them recently against the German rags, 1st half they were not very good but second half they were the better team and ended up losing 2-1. They have pace and power throughout the team and could exploit our weaknesses. It will not be easy and I have think it will end in a draw tonight, so any win and I would be well happy

A report on Dortmund from the Bundesliga.com https://www.bundesliga.com/en/bunde...will-beat-manchester-city-haaland-kovac-34589

The facts I registered: "They have lost just one of their last 17 Bundesliga games".

"Dortmund have conceded just six times in the Bundesliga this season – their best record after nine games in 23 years – with only league leaders Bayern stingier so far."

They are 3rd in the Bundesliga having W6, D2, L1 and the only loss was to Bayern who have a perfect record.

I think we should expect a difficult game. I am going 1-0 City.

They played Eintracht Frankfurt in the cup 2 days before that Augsburg game and it went to extra time and penalties. So wasnt their best lineup imo.

I expect Svensson and Ryerson will be wing backs tonight.

I would imagine they'll go:
------------------Kobel
-----????-----Anton---Bensebiani
Ryerson------Gross-----------Svensson
----------Nmecha---Sabitzer
----------Adeyemi---Guirassy

Sule or Schlotterbeck as the other centre half, outside chance that Chukwuemeka starts over one of the front 4 not named Guirassy.

Sule (toe) and Brandt (muscle) didn't travel.
Schlotterbeck was back in training.

Kovac said he wants to stick to defending a bit higher although it gives us space for counters via Erling. But similar to Pep he thinks it's good to keep the opponent far away from the own box.

Hope it works as well as vs B'mouth.

A higher press could be a game for Rico, we'll see.
Too late to change my starting IX in the 'Guess the team' compy...

Another team that we playing who are a top team! You look at some tripe the other teams are playing now this is the seconds year we had one of the toughest draws!
We have the 14th easiest draw out of the 36 teams:

I wouldn’t say Dortmund are a top team. They’re alright, but I wouldn’t say any better than Aston Villa or Brighton in the PL. Decent enough, dangerous if you don’t play well like we’ve seen with both those PL teams beating us this season. But the top teams are PSG Bayern Barça Arsenal Madrid City Liverpool and we only play one of those.

So a ‘par’ season would be to reach the quarters?
