Borussia Dortmund

Have you seen their "Kop"? It's fucking IMMENSE!
its an awsome sight. as schalke are my german team i cant go on about em too much tho. they give schalke 15000 seats for the derby.

It's beacause they do it right over there. Cheap tickets, SAFE standing areas, integrated transport with match ticket. No reason why we couldn't do the same with a revamped COMS.

Good thread, you know people from the club come on here so let's hope they read this and do the right thing with the prices and other stuff that benefits the fans. ;)

i deeply hate them as a Schalke supporter but... With 27.589 stands they´ve done a lot right for their fans. Their average attendance this season is 76.000

I implore City to 'go for it' with a redeveloped North Stand with the terracing/seats similar to the pic below - ie SAFE STANDING. There are seats available but let's face it nobody will use them - like they don't use them now. The difference being it's safe to stand as when a goal is scored you don't cut your shins open on the seats infront or fall over them or bruise all your calfs on your own seat.

A SAFE STANDING terrace complies with the Taylor Report in that it is primarily a seated area but the seats are designed in a way to promote standing. It's a no-brainer and City should take the lead. We could easily get crowds of 70k in a redeveloped COMS that way.

Nothing wrong with YNWA mate :)
i dream of european nights like that. or when liverpool played chelsea in the semis. or even the hamburg match. shows the power supporters can have in a game.

That really is class

I really like how in German stadiums they have traditional terracing in a modern, high tech setting. Dortmund are also doing well, 4th in the League, and the title isn't out of the question.

well, standing is not always safe at Dortmund, for example when they are defeated...lol

Plus affordable and good quality food and ale, encouraging fans into the ground early. More like a rock festival, or a proper day out than the English match day experience

You have to find it funny though that despite BVB only beating Schalke twice in about twelve years, one of them cost Schalke their first Championship win in over half a century!:)

I used to go out with a girl from Hagen many years ago and formed an affinity with Borussia Dortmund and took the opportunity to take a trip down to ground, the day after City had played Schalke. It's certainly a different place from the one I remembered back in 1995.

I've heard we're pencilled in for a friendly in Germany this summer. Anyone got anymore info on this. What would be the scenario if we wre playing qualifiers for CL or Europa lg?
