Gladbach are in a difficult situation as manager Marco Rose will join the other (much hated) Borussia in summer.
This season they are not creating enough chances and also conceding too many. They are currently on a poor run.

Their only hope is a good defensive setup and counter attacks into open spaces. That's the way the got draws vs Real and Inter.
We need mobile legs in defence, they have some quality.

I hope we put the tie to bed in the 1st leg, with a 2-0 being enough IMO.

The situation for the 2nd leg - Etihad or not - is still under consideration concerning a possible quarantine after returning from UK - or not.
That quarantine is decided in North-Rhine Westphalia, not in Berlin.

This mean West Ham have us 12.30 on a saturday after midweek away champions league twice this season

Suspect we’ll go strong and try to make second leg comfortable but Saturdays game will be a struggle

If Pep picks this team on Wednesday night, I will personally give you £10,000

I’d expect Foden, Rodri and Jesus to start this one. There’s going to be a degree of rotation between between the Borussia and West Ham teams with a stronger team on Wednesday. So I think the likes of Walker, Laporte & Torres will get a start either Wednesday or, more likely, Saturday.

Pep is definitely going to put his strongest side out there for this one. I remember in the Amazon series when they were on that winning streak in the PL and he said “Do not drop it!” to the squad. Given out current run of form, he isn’t going to risk them dropping it by putting a weaker squad out there tomanage the West Ham game on Wednesday, that is Saturday’s business.

Ederson
Walker
Stones
Dias
Laporte
Rodri
Gundo
KDB
Sterling
Jesus
Foden

Yes he will put out his strongest team, what that is from one week to another I have no idea though. Could be anything. Think Ederson Walker Stones Laporte Rodri Jesus Foden start and 4 others.

This game will have Pep’s (and Khaldoon’s) 100% focus and concentration.

Best team & try to finish the tie in the first (away) leg, esp given they have no home advantage and this is their first time this deep into the CL.

Anything less than a 2 goal winning margin must be seen as a poor result, even though I’m sure they will be a well organized, difficult team to beat.

While Pep can SAY it’s the “next game” but not every “next game” is the CL, and with this run, which should have put the PL to bed, it is now time to switch focus on the REAL PRIZE for the ownership and management of the club.

Yes, another PL trophy would be outstanding and deserved, and losing a 10pt lead with only 13 games left and a vastly superior goal difference against all comers would mean losing FOUR MORE GAMES than eithe Utd or Leicester and even more than anyone else with a hope. Accordingly, from here the season is about winning this tie on Weds.
All day & all night. 100%.
So, same back 4 as on Saturday, keep Fernandinho, Foden in for Mahrez.
Walker, Mendy, Garcia and Bill Leivers can come in v. West Ham.

Not a chance that Gundo and Rodri don’t start a knockout Champions League game away from home. Gundo especially against German opposition.
Pep seems to like Torres in the Champions League so wouldn’t surprise me to see him start
