If Cancelo plays left back in CL against a really good forward line he will be targeted or should I say the space he leaves. Gladbach had chances last night that Mbappe or dare I say Sane would’ve scored. Whoever plays left wing will need to do a lot of covering and that for me is Foden.

Strict quarantine rules in Germany depending upon the country visited

Mad really that Hungary currently has a far larger infection rate than the UK, but it's ok for a football team to travel there and not England

But not with the UK variant which is seem to be far more transmissible.

Late to the discussion here.
I think we've just seen the level that we need to perform at to compete in the CL (all the way to Istanbul?).
Initial high intensity followed by careful game management - yet still creating multiple chances.
Fantastic work rate from Foden and Bernado - they are almost selected as a pair when energy, pressing and dynamism is required. Certainly needed for the big games to also provide cover for our full-backs (or are they deep set midfielders).
Regarding Sterling - big concerns. At his game-changing best he's undropable. Currently, lacking some confidence and with a really poor first touch (compared to the rest of the boys on Tuesday), he's unpickable.
Normally I hate the idea of drawing an English club in a European competition, as it takes away any glamour, but if we can maintain that performance, I really don't care who we draw next. Bring it on!
