Boundaries between co-workers

If somebody that I wasn't friends with and didn't know very well put both hands on my shoulders for 5 secs, I'd either headbutt the **** or get a hard on depending on the person.

That should be the OPs biggest worry not his inappropriate touching but if 'she' got a hard on

I don't think you have too much to worry about. For your own peace of mind I would say what you were planning to say and leave it at that.

I get touched all the fucking time by this woman at work but it only upsets me because shes ugly as fuck. So if you're a handsome bastard, no worries, I dare say your future children are being imagined right now.

I probably don't, but on the off chance that she did feel uncomfortable, a complaint against me of that nature would be quite damaging. And lack of intent on my part would count for very little if it went to HR. So yes, a jokey jokey apology might be the best thing to do tomorrow.

Or just say fuck all and carry on as normal you big jesse. She's probably not thought anything about it.

Or when you get in tomorrow you'll be dragged into an office and accused of being a sex pest.

Either way...ignore it. Proof?

So was she seated and you put your hands on her shoulders from a standing position behind her chair. If so, that's a bit over familiar for me but not necessarily a major issue as long as it doesn't become an annoying habit and there are no other creepy changes in the usual relationship.

If you were facing her and put your hands on both shoulders and you're face to face that's properly weird and you need to apologise ASAP and try to avoid a HR issue.

There is putting hands on shoulders then there is putting hands on shoulders.

Would you have put your hands on another mans shoulders like that.

I do that all the time actually, especially my two mates. I wasn't even trying to be playful and it definitely wasn't flirtatious, although it could be taken that way, hence my concern.

Just say sorry and move on. Let her know you didn't mean anything by it, I'm sure she's not even given it a second thought
