Bournemouth (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Biggest takeaway for me is how much we missed Lewis when he was on the bench.

I hope his critics were able to see what he brings to our play.

Beyond that, we looked like a team full of half-fit and out-of-form players, which is largely what we are outside of Haaland, Gvardiol, Lewis, and Eddie.

That said, Doku looked great after coming on and we have a few others to come back, including hopefully Kev soon.

I fully expect Pep to sort things out and get us in to playing more cohesive, incisive football.

I would have honestly bitten your hand off to be in the position we are in at this point of the season after less-than-stellar performances on balance thus far.

We are in a fairly strong position compared to some of our previous title-winning seasons, so I don’t think this is the time to panic.

But that is obviously just my personal take.

A drop-off was inevitable.

Although I’ve got shit on for criticizing our performances this season, even when we win, because they have, in fact, been way below par, so I’m not sure why so many are seemingly surprised.

As much as I love him, Pep has been awful, too. Where’s the energy on the touchline? Why is Gundo still starting? What is he giving us that McAtee can’t? Why did he keep Haaland on today? he was clearly hurting, and we were basically playing with ten men. I won’t even get into Walker still playing, let alone starting. He’s been awful for two years now. The disrespect to Lewis recently, in my eyes, has been laughable.

Credit to Bournemouth. They’re an excellent team and are the deserved winners.
Yawn

First 80 mins were pathetic, much better last 10 but we could and should have been 4 or 5 down by that point. Doku looked good.
