He played nearly 70 mins Billy and was at fault for the goal, in that period he hardly ventured forward. It was called out by nearly every observer after the game, Pep himself switched Kompany because Sane was struggling. Not the whole story but a strong reason why we didn't win the game.
 
Until we bring in a new central, defensive midfielder that can boss the midfield we will always be in trouble at the back.

We'll have most of the possession, it just depends on if we can actually convert our chances.

Jesus needs to do less partying and do more on the field.

More than likely to win but we have problems.
 
If stubborn Pep decides to continue with 352 than it has to be Sterling for Aguero.

Is Mendy ready to start? He didn't even make the bench yet. Don't think he'll start. If he doesn't we should go with Danilo and Dinho as fullbacks with Danilo on the left.

Sane shouldn't be anywhere near the starting line up after his terrible performance last night.

Aguero and Jesus just doesn't work. With 352 play Sterling and Jesus.

The better option would be to go back to 433. Play Jesus on LW a position he is familiar with, Aguero in the middle and Sterling on the left. Fullbacks to overlap. Bring on Sane for either Jesus or Aguero in the second half.

Wasn't really the plan, Kolarov going put a spanner in the works, hopefully a left centre back / full back will come in.
 
The questions that need to be answered by Pep are:

1. Do we persevere with the 3-5-2 , he may be swayed by the fact that Mendy could be available for this one , so he is picking square pegs in square holes
2. Do we persevere with Aguero and Jesus up front. Personally they dont look a partnership to me , they both do their own thing and it doesn't seem as though they have a clearly defined role in the team. They seem to both play a false nine role, rather than one going short and other running in behind.

I would go with the 3-5-2 one more time

I'm really worried about Aguero , we should have bit the bullet and sold him this summer.
 
Just play with wingers. We play our best football that way and it opens up space for Kev and Silva to work their magic. If we go 3 at the back it's going to be pedestrian football once again.
