That was nothing to do with being on the left. The change was made as C-L had Otta on toast for pace. That's all.

Would have been the same had we played a four. He have still been beaten for pace, we'd have just had less cover.

Evans will fix that. Whether you like him or not he is left footed and left sided.

Also I don't know why everyone here has decided that looking uncomfortable in one game makes an entire system a write off.

If we'd played 10 games with it and players still looked uncomfortable fine, but to be complaining that players aren't completely at ease with a formation in their second competitive game seems ridiculously premature.
 
We played 352 against United, Real and Tothenham in pre- season and looked pretty good against all 3. Albeit the profligacy in front of goal persisted in all those hames

Its not the formation, its the players. They are off form or some of them were against Everton and Brighton.

I think we Wil play better soon. And don't think it has much to do with Mendy. Sane simply has to play better at LWB. I agree Sterling and Bernado probably deserve starts. For who? I don't know - Sterling for Aguero/Jesus and And Bernie for Silva/Kev/Dihno take your pick.

Other than that. Play the game and improve
 
We need to get Sterling into the starting 11 and i would love to see if Silva could play a deeper holding role.

i wish Mendy and Gundo were ready but maybe too soon.

He surely won't play Sane at left back again ?

Sorry but just no,he doesn't have a defensive bone in his body and it's a complete waste of his attacking quality
This will quite an open game,i would rather sane and sterling were wingers with a back 4

Same reason as myself..he's missed a trick in not signing Wesley Hoedt who can play left..I will watch his progress at Southampton with interest.

would rather play Fernandinho LB and Danillo RB. I will settle for one being out of position rather than two..
