I don't agree, they often flatter to decieve and give the ball away in the turnovers. They can come off the bench if Bournemouth tire and we need pace.

I can understand dropping Doku and Savinho because of no end product, savinho also because he's just become a father. But no Marmoush or Nico G?

We have two players who can hit a shot on target currently, Omar is one of them. Still, let's see what this brings. If it is as pedestrian and unimaginative as some will fear, at least we have options.

Bournemouth is a very narrow pitch, I think? Maybe that's why we're going to be focusing on central play and cutting back inside. Have to hit Haaland thought, and need to encourage Kev, Foden and Gundo to hit passes and shots wherever they have the chance. It's effectively our cup final.

Really disappointed no Grealish though, but trust in Pep.

Nunes is weak and cowardly in the tackle.

Gundogan, Kovacic and Bernardo give the illusion of control but instead we have no craft and a huge vulnerability on transitions.

Foden is off form but plays his best football centrally.

Looks like an afternoon of slow football and allowing Bournemouth hurt us on counters.

Earlier this season we had some below par teams but that was by necessity, Pep has chosen to leave Marmoush, Doku and Nico on the bench. I don’t get but hopefully he’ll be proved right.

Why?

Pep has gone with a very strong side against a side 4 points below us in the league, away from home, in a knockout game

It's not a game like the other rounds where players can have a run out because it's a straight forward match (on paper)

Grealish currently isn't in our strongest starting 11, but neither are plenty of others on the bench, doesn't mean they're finished here too.

He could be done here, but the fact he's not starting today isn't anything to do with that.

Lets see what happens. I am not that bothered about the line up until the game starts then we will see. More pace would be good, but maybe we can control the game with the experience we got out there, I just wonder about the intensity from the likes of Kevin and Gundo, Kova. At least we have some positive options from the bench that can change the game if/when required.
