Bournemouth (away) pre-match thread

Not watched Bournemouth often other than MOTD highlights but literally everyone is raving about them this season. I have noticed they concede often, 5th highest goals conceded with only the bottom four conceding more.

We should win but I can see a draw or scrappy home win, doubt Kev will be back fit enough to be our star.

There's only going to be one goal in this game, hopefully we will get it, but realistically, we wouldn't hit the floor if we fell over away from home. Shocking, we actually NEED to win all out games at this stage of the season. Too many players know they're out the door when MP goes, looks like most of them don't give a shit.

They'll come at us like a whirlwind left right and centre and we'll have both eyes on next Wednesday. Not confident at all

I can see a 2-3 here, a similar match to the one against QPR away where toure scored the header.

Hoping we get a bit of joy over the next few games. Bournemouth away and west brom at home we should be looking at 6 points. Then hopefully nick a draw in Paris.

I actually think 4-4-2 would work against Bournemouth so I'd line up something like

............................Willy.........................

Sagna.....Otamendi...Mangala....Clichy

Navas.....Fernandinho...Yaya.....Silva

.................Aguero....Iheanacho..........

Take the we'll score one more than you approach

Spurs went at them and scored after 40odd seconds, I know they played them at home but it's what we need to do, in fact it's what we've needed to do all season, start fast and get control. Instead we do the slow careful start and 'umbrella' pass around the edge of the area all first half in almost all games. Pelli it isn't the way to win games.....doubt he'll have an epiphany now though and we'll be pinning our hopes on not being outfought and a moment of individual brilliance.....

These sailors are going to get one pell of a lesson in football this weekend. It's no more Mr Nice guy as far as Pellegrini is concerned. We are going to see from Saturday until the end of the season just how 'nice & charming' Senor Manuel is. Hang on Pablo1...your in for the ride of a lifetime.
I bet you said somethig similar before the Norwich game. And the Derby. I just have no idea where you get this constant optimism from. But whatever.
I agree with your earlier comments re starting kelechi, but again, he tends to start bony before him, for no good reason.

Proves how backwards we've gone when not confident about facing Bournemouth. Home or Away we should be beating them comfortable with what's been spent.

Given that Clichy, Mangala, Fernando, Yaya and Navas all had a two-week break from any games, I'm assuming they will start. Sagna, Silva won't be much fatigued either, and Aguero simply must start even if he has to travel quite a lot. So, along with Willy, I'm thinking these 9 places in the first eleven are sorted, just as is Otamendi, though he didn't feature at all in Argentina's game last night... Surely his injury problems didn't reoccur?

The remaining one player will be De Bruyne/Bony, as Pellegrini will hardly opt for Kelechi, sadly. I'm hoping Kevin can last about 60 minutes on the field by now, though he's not that effective coming from the left wing, so I'd like to see some reshuffling with Silva (as we must stick Navas to the right wing).

Otamendi was suspended for Argentina so he went home a day earlier and was replaced in team by Demichelis.

Good that mangala and otamendi can have a good understanding to secure top 4

I can't bring myself to think City will fail before a kick off. I may as well pack it in if i stop believing. With the injured players coming back i honestly think we will see the team click like the first five games and play like Pellegrini has planned all along.

Fair enough mate. I believe we SHOULD win it - just what I find odd is this staunch belief you have that we are about to turn it around. Before the Norwich game you predicted we would win our next 6 (I think?) and we have picked up 1 point - against a team who were woefully out of form. Our form has been dire - should we turn it around, yes. Should we beat Bournemouth, probably yes. But there isn't a lot to say we will.

I don't believe it makes you any less of a fan to think like that. I'll go and support the team at every game, and believe we can win. But just because I go in there with caution too, given our woeful form, and can't see us winning the league, doesn't make me want to pack it in. It just makes me want to write off this season as a poor one, and look forward to next.

I am going with the first of two back to back pl large margin wins. (But i am in bed sick)

I'm sorry mate but injuries and Champions League tie still being considered, we need to be taking 6 points off of these two teams with no fear of relegation and nothing to play for.
Fully agree. But it might be easier said than done. Personally I fear that we may somehow get past PSG but the distraction of a semi against one of the big boys hurts our points total and the Rags pass us out. The positive slant is that we go on the run which we have been hoping for in recent weeks and finish 3rd.

Mmm. Just doesn't seem any point in dwelling on past games. I'm sure the players are dying to get them out of their system too. We're in a dreadful run of league form. Hopefully it can finish like last season...i think we were pretty bad in February and March too?

Too True we were pure shite from New Year when we were joint top until after the Rags handed us our arses on a plate around this time last season. The good news is that we can turn it around but realistically the current mess we are in may prove difficult to get out of.
