Bournemouth (H) - CC 3rd Round Post-match Thread

Mahrez continually plays terribly in these early cup games, like he's offended to have been put in with the kids. Sané was similar, IMO it really differentiates the real team players and the ones focused on themselves above all. Sterling, Walker, Mendy, Rodri all supported the kids, took on more responsibility, could be seen guiding them through the game and looked like they were enjoying it.
Nail on the head. He's no £60m player for me.

20 minutes into the second half I texted my lad and asked when Torres had come on, I was shocked when he said at kick off, I missed the first 20 minutes of the game, so for 45 minutes he wasn't mentioned once.

The way everyone is praising Delap. Now that Sergio is injured, may be now is the time to put him on the bench for the odd game so we can give Jesus arrest now and again.

So onwards and on to the game against Burnley. I just hope that by the time that game comes around we can get more players for for this game.

A narrow win for Man. City according to SSN.

Moss his usual disgraceful, allow opposition to use thuggery without cards self. Ended up giving 2/just to hide his agenda

And why no yellow when one of their players tugged a shirt to stop a break.. even the shitest of refs can get that right.

Overall some good performances from the younger ones and that ball from Foden inside their defender and the finish from Delap into the top corner without breaking stride will be one of the best goals we will score this season.. brilliant !

Totally agree, he was both dreadful and dreadfully selfish.

Importantly we won with A LOT of players out of the squad. Hopefully we reap the benefits this weekend.

Brilliant summary from airhead Hailey on Sly - Manchester City, a narrow win for them. That's nice.Just couldn't help herself.

Decent game with standouts from Delap, Foden and Doyle. Honorable mentions Walker, Rodri and Steffen.

Just switched over for ET of
Sevilla 1 - 1 Twats.

I can report Kounde has smashing corn rows. Sevilla had chances to win in 90 mins and just now. Neuer's handling seems a bit shit. C'mon the Oranges! (So to speak)

;-)))))

We are like a huge knife with the bluntest blade. I thought Walker, Doyle and Foden were great. Delay caused problems but worried how ordinary Torres looked.

Hopefully Torres just needs time to get fully match fit, adapt to the speed of the game/culture of English football, Pep’s tactics, etc.

Still a young lad who will get plenty of time to bed in from the bench.

Liked the look of Delap a proper bomber style forward. Looks like he knows where the onion bag is and is strong as an ox. I think he’ll get a fair bit of game time this year in and around the squad.

Doyle - busy and tidy and played some good passes and got around well. Definitely a useful option. Bit over enthusiastic on a few simple passes but he’ll iron that out the more he features.

Foden is simply the best talent England have and technically the best player they’ve had since Gazza. He is going all the way to the top and he’s a blue. You can’t ask for more.

Harwood-Bellis - did well, won plenty of headers and got some great tackles and blocks in. A few passes went astray but considering Garcia is a full Spanish international, I’d say he’s not far off him.

Bernabe - don’t see a future for him at city. He was playing out of position but I fear he’ll go the way of plenty before him and end up back in Spain or loaned around. Just think he’s missing something.

Torres - underwhelmed. He’ll have to do a whole lot better if he thinks he’ll be playing in the first 11.However, like many others he may just need time to settle into the city way.

Steffen - couldn’t do anything about the goal, but really impressed. Quick off his line to do the one bit of defensive goalkeeping he had to do and I think he must have been near on 100% pass completion. Seems very able in his passing and with his feet.

Mendy -just doesn’t look like the player he was at Monaco. As an attacking fullback his decision making and end product is awful and this is what we bought him for. When Walker outshines you offensively when I’d say Walker isn’t noted for his end product and crossing it says it all.

All in all a good game and through to the next round. Shame we couldn’t give Cole Palmer his debut.
