That and the red card. Both due to really poor back passes. Pleased (very) about the result, but those two passes say quite a lot about the season and its shortcomings. Also have you noticed how teams have taken to the long throw into the box against us? They've clocked that we're curiously weak in the air in defence.
All that needs sorting badly during the close season.
Considerably better in midfield and up front than on Saturday.

I thought we defended it ok today to be fair. Their only chances came from our mistakes. The one in the first half where they hit the post was horrendous from Akanji. Then the red was totally on us and the goal sadly (thought he had a great game) was so typical of Nunes.

Don’t want to dwell on the bad as there was so much good tonight.

if only Kova could have chased back and swan dived forward to palm the ball away as we all now know this wouldn’t have been worthy of a red card.

(Yes, I know sarcasm is the lowest form of wit)
 
Decent enough performance overall but some very rigid, slow play again for long spells. I don’t mind it as much if it’s for game management and we occasionally go for the throat at pace. There must have been 10 times tonight when a forward ball was on and either nobody (mainly Haaland) ran for it or we chose to stop, turn and play inside.

A sublime strike out of nothing from Marmoush and a great run and finish by Nico obviously the stand out moments.

Great to send Kev off well and monumental to have Rodri back. You could feel the place lift and flood full of positivity when he started warming up.

Lots of work to do and lots of things to figure out. Maybe they’ll be allowed to take a risk or two when he’s back on the pitch. As soon as he came on he was organising. Wonderful to see.

I can’t help but think we’ve seen the last of a few of those lads tonight in that game (Fulham apart).

Great win, as they all are. Let’s cement the best finish possible this weekend and move on to next year.
 
Lots of positives in that performance. It was fantastic to see Rodri back pulling the strings like he had never been away. Great sendoff for Kev and sounded a great atmosphere.
