Tough game this, these are flying at the moment. Kluivert and Semenyo very dangerous.

No Savinho please. Gvardiol at CB not LB.

……………………Donnarumma
Nunes…..Stones……..Gvardiol……Ait-Nouri
…………..……….Gonzalez
……Cherki…….Bernardo…..Foden
………..………..Marmoush
……………………Haaland

---------Donnarumma
Nunes--Dias--Stones--O'Reilly
------------Gonzalez
--------Cherki--Foden
-Doku--Haaland--Marmoush

That's a very imbalanced team. Cherki and Foden in midfield together with Marmoush and Doku on the wings and two former midfielders at FB is soft and weak defensively. Who's going to press and win duels?

Also, when was the last time Stones played in the LCB position?

Donnarumma

Nunes Dias Gvardiol O'Reily

Gonzalez Rodri

Foden Cherki Doku

Haaland

Rodri back in training hopefully he can make it if not swap him for Reijnders.

Big game already if we want to mount some kind of title charge especially with Arsenal playing Burnley where you'd expect them to easily pick up 3pts. We'll be 9 behind and possibly mid table after just 10 games :-(

Come on City.

IMO, that's the best team we can play right now (if Rodri is fit enough to start). Against Liverpool I may have Khusanov at RB, but Nunes is better now. Khusanov needs 2-3 games to regain form.

I acknowledge they might not offer much off the ball but I’d be starting Cherki and Doku in most games this season. We desperately need their dynamism and creativity.

I think Doku is good at winning second balls and duels. He's valuable in high pressing for his acceleration means he can win loose balls. But he lacks the stamina to run up and down the pitch. Looks a bit heavy at times.

Generally, I agree though. I'd like to see more often him and Cherki starting together.

We need to stop Semenyo, no chance if we play Khusanov and Ait Nouri as full back if they play like they did yesterday.

I dont really like that midfield 3 but Bernardo will be better defensively than Reijnders (who does not deserve to start at present at all)

Khusonov even though he had a stinker vs Swansea I will give the benefit of the doubt as he has generally played well and is defensively more solid than Nunes (who has improved)

OReilly at fullback over RAN - RAN offers NOTHING defensively and is a concern for me

Cherki has to start and him and Foden can rotate positions - however this will be a good game to judge him (cherki) on and whether he has the intensity necessary to hack it.

Doku on the left as he will at least run through brick walls to try to make something happen.

RAN plays we will struggle - the lad aint got any fight in him whatsoever so far and needs a rocket up him

I wonder if they could do a Leicester and win the league? When Leicester came to the Etihad during their wonder season they gave City a beating, went 3-0 up by half-time with really good football and Mahrrez on fire. Similarly Bournemouth will see this match as a test of how good they really are. You've got to admire how they do it on a limited budget and crowds of 11,000 but unfortunately a year from now Semenyo will be seeing his talent wasted at Spurs and Iraola doing the same at the swamp. Maybe City's bosses should have Pep take him out for a nice meal and show him what his future could look like.

Both Brighton and Bournemouth are very good at what they do in the transfer and should be an object lesson to 'smaller clubs'. It has to be significant that Tony Bloom has now got Hearts top of the league

Big Don
Nunes - Dias - Gvardiol - Nico
Nico G
Cherki - Foden - Reijnders
Haaland - Marmoush

If we dont play with an actual 2 man midfield, we will lose. We need presumably nico and Bernardo alongside one another, not Bernardo pushed into the 10 role like villa. Have a 2 man base which gives us more solidity and also gives the 10 a bit more freedom.

Donnarumma
Nunes
Dias
Gvardiol
O'Reilly
Nico
Bernardo
Foden
Cherki
Doku
Haaland

Standard back 4, 2 sitting midfielders to control and 3 behind Haaland. Foden off the right on the basis he is more disciplined in his defensive work, when we've got the ball he and cherki can interchange fluidly.

Got to win, have to assume Arsenal will beat Burnley so we cannot go 9 behind them. they can only bottle it if there is actual pressure for them to cave in to, giving them a big, early gap would be criminal
