He left the Bundesliga in January but scored more goals (15) than Sesko (13) and Woltemade (12) and had more g+a (24) than Wirtz (22) managed in the full season.

He only came to the PL in January but scored more goals (7) than Doku, Grealish, Savinho and Gündoğan combined (6) after the full season.

It’s not that far fetched to say that by 7pm on Sunday he could be our second top scorer with a brace in a good performance, even though he’s missed 5 of our 9 games (and only come on as a sub in 2 of the games he has been fit) this season.

His general play can be a bit erratic, his first touch isn’t great, but he knows where the net is.

If Cherki is fit enough to start on Sunday, I’d play him right and Marmoush left either side of Haaland and Foden. Then bring Doku on to cause havoc to give Cherki a rest.

I like that, a lot. My only question would be Nico O or RAN. I think Bernardo deep lying is great (he most certainly ain’t a winger) and would like Cherki more like a 10 and hence maybe RAN to provide the left sided width?

Definitely Nico for this game I reckon, need the physicality and someone who's 100% match sharp.

Just hope that Pep picks Cherki - firstly because of his unique skill set that makes us move forward better and secondly as a reward for a mom performance in the week. If he's on the bench that sends a poor message - you played the best but be content with my favs coming back in. Fingers crossed as I am genuinely excited to see how he goes if given a run in the side.

just came on to say Bournemouth played liverpool first up got beat and have then had a very kind fixtures.

their 5 wins are wolves at home, spurs away (38% possession), brighton at home, forest at home and Fulham at home.

they got beat by brentford and drawn away at leeds, home to newcastle, and away at palace.

in reality they should not be 2nd and will revert to the rightful place in mid table.

Indeed, that's why I would play a consistent back four with Gonzalez and Rodri/Bernardo/Kovacic in front of it.

IMO..given what I have seen, O’Reilly is superior to RAN both as a full back and moving into his natural midfield position

The stats with wolves suggest he was bigger on goals and assists but less good defensively, conversely Nico despite being a more natural midfielder seems better defensively but less so on goal contributions. RAN very little game time with us so far

so far this week i have seen ran, reijnders and marmoush all wrote off on this forum, our fanbase never learns, the list of players that have turned into great players for city despite being wrote off after half a season is alot longer than the list of players who our fanbase called crap and were right about.
