Was wanting to post regarding Bournemouth and moticed there didn't appear to be a thread for them.... so here it is.

The point I was wanting to make was that I think there should be a positive nod to them (even though they lost to Brentford yesterday) and in particular to their set piece coach.






The corner they scored against the Arse was IMO outstanding, but the one they scored yesterday was absolutely fantastic, a great planned move, something I think our Pep would be proud of.

I think this will be a very interesting Premier League season, anyone, quite literally can (and are) beat anyone.

There's a vlog called Back of the Net and the two that run it really hate City and placed the Etihad as the worst away day experience

You obviously haven’t been here for at least forty years. The place is teeming with Gen Z students. OK old people die here too, is that no longer happening in Manchester? I know Manchester very well, my Mum was born in Saddleworth and grandparents lived there all their lives, hence my devotion to City. I loved Manchester in the late 20th century and was surprised when I moved here in 2002 how misguided people were about Bournemouth having more wheelchairs than bikes and bifocal shop windows etc. But Bournemouth is no safer than Manchester these days, lots of crime due to County lines etc and drug barons from London creating problems and asylum seekers in local hotels getting free accommodation and health care. Also lots of AirBnb parties in millionaires’ properties in Poole which leads to a lot of ASB. A place that the homeless and young people come to die as well as old people. We do have the advantage of not having Man U on our doorstep though.

OK, back to the footie. They were bought out by an another American rich guy last year (yes they play in red too). They have spent a lot of money on new training facilities due to open in January, not quite like City’s campus but better than many Premier League, and I think over time their academy will produce a lot of talent. They seem to have a model that would attract kids from Southampton and Portsmouth very quickly. The ground is the smallest in the Premier League, but the 12k crowd generates a very noisy atmosphere, and they have a huge waiting list for season tickets. Next up is a new stadium, around 25k, I believe, so they could easily become another Brighton. I don’t support them, but I don’t hate them except for last week.

I have to say they are in the minority, when I saw City play at Bournemouth earlier in the year there were loads of local fans excited to see Erling, Phil etc, and there is no perceivable general animosity to City, any more than any other club’s fans. Most are more animated about Southampton, but they definitely enjoyed beating the four in a row Champions. Bournemouth’s ground is the worst in the Premier League, but the crowd do make a noise.
 
All credit to them. For their size and relative stature, they're certainly punching above their weight. And I reckon that if you offered them a finishing position where they are now (12th), they'd rip your arms out of their sockets. Apologies if that comes across as harsh (it's not intended to be). Clubs like them, their ultimate aim is to stay in the cash cow that is the PL. They have what appears to be a decent young manager, and some decent players. The trick will be to hold on to them.
