Box at an away game ...

Just a quick question, has anybody been in a box in the home end at an away game? I have just been offered the chance to go into a box at Stoke on Saturday. Not the nicest of games to be sitting around the home fans for but just wondered if anybody had any past expereinces is at any good? Im guessin you cant stand up and cheer when we score haha!

Mates were in a box at Stoke in 98 when were relegated. They jumped up and were threatened and then they were actually chased out off the box . They had loads after them and one of my mates hid in the toilets in a cubicle. Once it all calmed down he sauntered down to behind the dugs outs and like a "divi" he let on to the City substitutes and was once again chased by an angry mob. I could see him from where I was in the away end behind the goal and laughed so much. They all ended up getting turfed out the main exit by the stewards and met up with Kit Symons ?????? and has a little chat with him before the angry mob chased them again towards the coaches - oh its fun and games at Stoke.

Moral of the Story - get lashed on the free ale and the pain wont be as bad if they catch you.

Yep - Wigan last season.

There were more City fans in there than wigan fans.

They must have known cos the guest speaker was Steve Daly!!!!

Sounds like fun and games, well yeah likewise the only reason I am going as it is freebies so saving 60 odd quid. Looking forward to the buzz of being near the home fans to be fair, never done it before! I am not an idiot and I not be there to cause trouble and providing the ale doesnt go upwards will react in an appropriate manner if we score haha!

Two types of boxes at Stoke:

Sky box - top of stand, glass front no seating area outside of box

Executive Box - Middle of stand with approx 12 seats outside of box for viewing.

As far as trouble, you would have to making a right twat of yourself to stir up the folks who sit in that stand.

Thanks Lightwood. Guessing that stand rarely gets up to much then? I am not sure which box it is just looking forward to the experience.

John Smith's stand - the average age of folk over there is about 65. There are a few chavs who go in the lower section near to the away fans but other than that just take your flask and blanket and you'll be fine ;)
