Boycott the M*rror

What I don't understand with regards to Rics notice. How can Rich be held responsible for what is posted on his forum. I don't understand how the responsibility lies with Rich.......like if I copied and pasted an article text from the faily M!rror into my Facebook status. Would they contact Zuckerberg?
If I'm being a bit thick my apologies just don't get it.

Instead of sitting on our arses and moaning in here, we really should be highlighting this and making them look like the pricks they are. Facebook, Twitter, press, blogs, etc. i suggest a Twitter hashtag of #Mirrorwankers unless anyone's got a better one. I've got some contacts at The Mail, who hate The Mirror so I'll let them know. Journos read this site anyway so they'll presumably be aware of it.

They are strictly within their legal rights of course but the big guy bullying the little guy never plays well. They make us look like shit, let's do the same to them. Let's find out if other sites are affected or it's just us. If it turns out it's just us then we can really go to town on them.

A quick search turned up no similar threads/notices on other forums.

No they wouldn't, but that's down to two factors.
1. They have a Facebook page with the same information on it.
2. Facebook are bigger than them and could do them serious harm if annoyed.

It's links to articles so not the full text. I get they bigger and can flex serious financial muscle. But still seems like utter bollox.

But Facebook's answer would still be "those articles are on your Facebook page, maybe you shouldn't have one?" At which stage the Mirror's financial controllers would attempt to bludgeon the copyright department to death.

True true.

its part of an owners responsibility to actively cut out and stop illegal activity on their website.
Similar to pirate bay they just said its not us its our users who are doing it, they did nothing to stop or try and stop the illegal stuff so they ended up in court.
if we were able to host movies on Bluemoon then he would be in trouble for not removing the movies, the buck lies with Ric as the owner.

If you started posting full articles to Facebook and you started to get big enough that to get noticed then Facebook would also be face the M!rror threatening them.

Not sure if it is the same in the UK, but In the USA, If the article is available through an internet source that does not require a log-in, it is in the public domain. As long as the source is cited, it is absolutely legal to use.
