"He takes corners from the right with his left foot and corners from the left with his right foot."
Sensible kid. I like him already.

Barça was scouting him for 2 years, gotta be something about him. Let's hope we train him right.

Think I read he's given 2500 a week or something.

You aren't allowed to sign players under 16 years old up to a salaried contract, IIRC.

From what I've heard we've spent 300k up front for this kid, possibly rising to 2.1 million... For a 14 year old...
Anyone else think this is ridiculous? How can you possibly tell someone is going to be a world beater at 14 years old?
Fair play if he does make it, but I dunno. Just seems silly stuff to me

Well, let's say we do this with 10 kids of his ilk, or similar; outlay of say £5m up front, probably less. Let's say half of them never make it at all, and we just write them off. Of the remaining 5, let's say 3 are decent, but not quite good enough for us; sell them on for maybe 3 or 4 million total. But if one or two of them turn out to be serious class, then we have saved around £30m - £60m in transfer outlay in having to buy them, or similar players, at 22-23 years old from the clubs who did take a chance on them.
Given the modest outlay, FFP and potential rewards, then I think this is a win-win situation. You only need to find one Ronaldo or Messi or Aguero per decade, and the investment is more than justified.

That's genius. It is like the opposite of how Real Madrid run their Academy!
