looking at the possible last 8 teams, does anybody still fancy England over Brazil France Spain Argentina
All of those teams have lost to countries that were eliminated in the group stage.
Only two other teams still in the world cup are undefeated (Morocco and the Netherlands) and only Morocco (who are yet to play in round of 16) have conceded fewer goals than England.
dead rubber games and resting players' using squad players are part of going long in the world cup.

It's at the World Cup, a supposed festival of football. If you can't enjoy scoring goals at what is supposed to be the pinnacle of the game then when can you?
