Labrador.
Admittedly he is the only dog I have had, but he's brilliant, prefer him to most people.

Not mine, next door have one a greater Swiss mountain dog. I never thought I would want a big dog however having met her I would not hesitate she is mint.

Sorry to hear that mate, losing pets is always shit. We had a cat called Alfie that we all loved to bits and we were devastated when he died suddenly aged four. 13 sounds a good age mate

We're getting a Tibetan mastiff next month. can't wait. A pup. Bit dear £950 but we had one when I was about 10, best dog ever. Very loyal dogs and very good guard dogs.

Lurchers. I've got two re-homes and love 'em to bits. They run like speeding bullets but are couch potatoes for much of the time. Ditto greyhounds.
As an earlier poster said, please consider giving rescue dogs a chance. Most of them are in that situation because of fuckwitted owners rather than any fault of their own.
