I might sound radical but it is a serious point

With the population growing and natural resources running out we need to stop people having babies left right and centre

I propose that IVF should stop until the orphanages are empty and anyone wanting a baby should have to apply to a panel. The criteria would be:
1) How long have the couple been together
2) What do you feel you could offer a newborn
3) Do you own/rent a property. This will stop teenagers having babies and would, i my opinion would reduce the chance of broken homes

Before anyone gets into the 'I'm from a broken home and I'm OK' debate this isn't about that. This is a thread about the need to slow down the growth of population

As absolutely ridiculous as your notion is, I'll play along.

If you were serious about implementing this policy you would have to stop all immigration. No point stopping our lower classes from breeding if the foreign lower classes can breed all they want and bring ready made scumbags into the country.

What would you do if someone illegally had a baby ? Fine them, sterilise them and take their kid away ?

Where would that kid go? Into care, so it instantly becomes a burden on your new world order? Or would you just put it in a sack with a brick in and throw it in the cut?

The child would be put into a state orphanage and the parents put into prison and any other children they had would be up for adoption

Its easy to police, any women that went for a scan would have to produce papers and if she cannot provide them then the pregnancy will be aborted

What is wrong with the policy I have suggested?
The country is getting over crowded and something needs to be done, it will also help build a stronger family/community culture. We can't carry on with people having accidental/unwanted pregnancies left, right and centre

Yeah, it does sound a little extreme, but in practicallity girls can be have an implant that stops them getting pregnant. You can get it on the NHS for free.

If this was made compulsory for all 14 years olds, then when they were ready to have children in the future, they would sit down with a GP and maybe a panel who can decide if they have the finanaces and correct social environment for raising children.

People might find this idea a little OTT, but when I took on two kittens from the CPL. TWO women came round to my house and questioned me for an hour, and they had a good look around the house and garden before they would let me have the bleedin kittens. And it's even more difficult when you get a dog.

You can have a baby these days and nobody checks your situation out. There was a woman in the tele last night who had learning difficulties and was knocking about with wrong uns in some dingy flat in Coventry. She'd had six children taken into care. If she'd had the implant at 14, she wouldn't have had any kids at all.

As to the poster re pollution , it's not what we pump out and into the sea and it's not that we cut down the forests etc... It's that if the population of the planet was that of 100 years ago there would be less of all of the above happening and without new technologies ( of what I don't know) these things will continue.

My view is that eventually we will get to a tipping point ( tm fbloke) and nature herself will balance it all out.

TMQ, I don't know if you recall but you and I already decided everyone should be killed at birth as it will reduce the crime rate to 0%.
