Thanks to Thomas Cook cancelling a plane & City putting the tickets on sale far too late, I am now flying to Bremen on Wednesday afternoon, (ryanair from M'cr) and flying back on Friday morning. Does anyone know anything about Bremen or is it best to go straight to hamburg ? Anyone know anything about the trains ?

Two options from Bremen, there's a direct bus link from the airport to Hamburg, 24 euros return if you book online, 28 on the day:

<a class="postlink" href="https://www.bus2fly.de/en/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">https://www.bus2fly.de/en/</a>

or you can get a tram into Bremen then a train to Hamburg. Book the whole journey, put "Flughafen, Bremen" as the start point and you'll get a fare that includes the tram. (25 euros return)

Cheers for that. Bus tickets sorted. 12 Euro each way. 90 minutes journey. Hotel next. Looking forward to it all ready.

It wasn't cheap. £ 160.00 flight on ryanair from M'cr to Bremen on Wednesday afternoon. Bus from Bremen airport to centre of Hamburg £ 12.00, 2 nights in hotel very near Hamburg central station £ 90.00 and same travel costs getting back on Friday. Knowing City it probably won't be worth it !

Hi Me and My lad are on the Ryanair to Bremen on wednesday, but staying overnight in Bremen, hotel booked opposite station so going to Hamburg on train Thurday day time, anybody want to share on one of the cheapo landover tickets on Thursday please let me know, also if anyone else is staying in Bremen Wednesday or Saturday nights, let us know a good spot for a few beers, cheers Paul.

There are three pubs in Bremen, all Irish themed.
One around the corner of your hotel, The Paddys Pit is a decent downstairs Pub with big screens for CL football. Better choice is the Hegartys in Ostertorsteinweg, biased in the so called "Viertel", our amusment quarter with many pubs and bars around there. Both pubs are the main spots for the english people who lives here. 15 Min walk or a tram ride for 6-8 min.

Other good spots are The Schlachte, 12-15 bars with beergardens, next to the River Weser, 10 Min walk. If you are in town centre, give the Achims Becks Haus a try, you´ll never get a better Becks from the tap anywhere....
The Schnoor quarter has some good restaurants witch includes the best Tapas Bar in town and also a good Pub there, Irish Pub Schnoor......

Enough for 2-3 Beers????
