Why are the media allowed to make up complete bullsh*t ?

Surely there should be some regulations to only publish supported evidence to rumours - someone should start a thread at the end of the season and submit every players name that is linked to City come the start of the season. I reckon you would get over a 100 names and one or two of them might happen.

Well to be fair they start in the front pages so may as well carry on through the back pages as well. They're morally dubious profit-seeking enterprises, not an objective fact sheet.

Because it draws traffic to their sites when people inevitably link the stories. Just like in this thread.
