Strong team, strong bench.

Looks like it's either an old school 4-4-2 with alvarez who will drop to midfield out of possession and haaland up top flanked by foden left and bernardo right and kdb alongside rodri. Or, Bernardo with rodri and the 3 behind haaland are given a bit of a free role with all 3 between the lines that will revert to kdb central and the two pushing wide when without the ball.

Either way it seems exciting on paper but could easily prove to be imbalanced. Want the job done quick with that lineup, ruthless from the whistle no dicking around. Need a comfortable few goal lead as these more than anybody can grab a goal from a set piece out of nothing and nick something if we don't push to secure the win.

3 points no drama and no injuries please.

I don't mind Alvarez up top but don't think he's technically good enough to play in a deeper role or out wide. At first glance it looks a bit unbalanced but maybe will end up something like:

Ederson

Walker Dias Ake Gvardiol

Bernardo Rodri

Alvarez KDB Foden

Haaland

Wouldn't be my choice (personally would prefer Grealish or Doku in for Alvarez) but at least it looks a bit more balanced with the 3 behind Haaland being able to change positions. If the earlier posted line-up is correct though, Rodri is going to have a lot of work to get through.
There will be plenty of rotation around those 5.
It is going to leave us wide open at times - but apparently that's our latest evolution, we've all seen it so far this season anyway.
Pep's been working towards our usual run from Feb onwards since August. Trust the process - I think things have worked out ok previously
