Brentford (A) - Post-Match Thread

Good article on the back of the slow tempo we played v Brentford and how it was all by design:

Sometimes we just don't see what is seemingly plain to the experts.
Different angles - based upon well-honed expectations.
And while they don't always work out exactly as planned... there's a reason why the consistent winners win so consistently.

Apologies if mentioned before but haven't read the full thread. Without sounding like a deluded dipper I think the slow pace was because of the pitch. The grass was definitely a little bit longer than normal. The ball was being held up and players were having to wait for it, not a lot, but enough to put us off our quick contol passing game.

As for having 10k plastics at Brentford, I really don't think that is the case. Probably more like 4k new premier league Brentford.
But when you have fought for a sustainable future for our club for 20yrs, rattled buckets at every home game, done countless other fundraising stuff, been 1 of 4 fans who made history and formed a political party to fight an unsupportive Council and then field 14 candidates across the Borough with one elected in Brentford - I got a massive 265 votes, to have mental celebrations when we found the attendance was 200 above forecast and to find a new stadium site in our town in West London,
the fact that we have any new fans after being a bit of snidey joke by the big clubs is not something I can really worry about.
TBF I think the proper Brentford loyals are a pretty decent bunch, who know what we are and where we could quickly be back to.
The only thing with new Brentford fans is you think where were you when we were struggling to survive when we really needed you.
Averaged 7k in 2014 now up to 17k think that’s more than 4K to be honest ........... I mean for the real Brentford fans I want them to do well but for the plastics naahhhhhh these clowns will jump on another bandwagon once it goes wrong

Brentford are a good club and i have seen enough from The club,a player and its owners supporting my wife's sister who was a season ticket holder through a very difficult time from which she eventually lost her battle. If she was here now she would be thrilled to bits with there achievements. Football is a very passoinate game and some of us devote a very large amount of time to our team. We have also gained some fans just like Brentford.I feel sorry for loyal Brentford fans because most of the new ones seem to be Chelsea fans 5 of which were on my bus going to the game. What i will say about the Brentford family i married into, they never ever questioned why i was going to a match even when there was a family event in all my 36yrs with my wife.Good luck for the rest of the season but not in February sorry.
