Brentford (A) | Post Match Thread

Kinda puts to bed the theory that we can field two great teams. I guess today went how we expected with the upcoming games, but I hope this has no negative consequences for the remaining two games. I doubt it will, but let's just say the last two games (Brighton and today) haven't helped either. No decent run outs for the regulars and possible doubts creeping in. I dunno, I'm not always a fan of taking your foot completely off the gas. I'd be happier seeing the regular players remaining hungry.

Maybe I'm flapping. We'll see next week.

I think only 1(walker)will play on Saturday,I think Pep decided that all his main players were going to have this game off...concerned where Grealish is mind...

It’s a really tough part of recruitment arguably harder than finding starters. Not arguing with the starters we have brought in but the players replacing fern, zinchenko etc are a downgrade imo.
Yeah, I don't disagree. There are arguments for all of them getting another chance next season though. Trust the process.

Contact the Samaritans.

I get resting players and all that. But fuck me that was gash.

Gomez is the worst left back I've seen in a city shirt. And that includes watching Charvet.

Palmer is soooo laxy dazy. Absolutely no end product at all.

And Phillips looks like he's won a contest to play for City.

Our depth really needs addressing in the summer!

Slight concern we'll be undercooked for the two important games remaining, but it's Pep's call
My thoughts too …. they’ve basically had a fortnight off, it’s difficult to suddenly reach those top levels we’ve shown with a flick of a switch.

Just hope Pep knows what he’s doing this week because that was pathetic today.

Awful game and obviously would have preferred to keep our unbeaten run going, but the positives are all our big hitters are rested and ready to for the the final 2 big games.

result is meaningless (unless you are taking momentum into account)

the performance was average...

Foden looked a class above anyone one the pitch on either team.

Really not sure on Gomez or Phillips - neither look like they are good enough (and gomez certainly aint good enough defensively)

You’re flapping.

Couldn’t care less about the result. Looking forward to the next two games.

Is what it is. Wasnt good, foden was the only real spark of quality on the pitch but thats the performance of a team that's been heavily rotated with absolutely nothing riding on it and two of the biggest games in every players career coming up. Just something to get through and nothing more. Doesn't appear as though we suffered any injuries, probably 1 player started that we would expect to start the final next weekend with plenty of rest into the majority of the squad. Mission accomplished. Now on to the final and annihilate them.
