From the table, it’s a must win that’ll put us 5th, 3pts behind Arsenal, going into an international break that SHOULD give us the time to get multiple first team players fit to start putting in some minutes.

Win 4-0 and we will also have the best GD in the League. 3-0 has us tied on +11 with Arsenal. GD could be very important this season given everyone looks a little vulnerable on any given weekend.

COME ON CITY!!!
Yes, actually put more pressure on for the win today with those results today - a win would be massive, daft to think we're on the same points as that shower over in Trafford

All ifs and buts i know, but had we hung on at Arsenal, we'd be going into tomorrow's game knowing that a win would take us top of the league

Think that gives a lot of context as to where we are, and how close we actually are to competing for the league this season

Lets hope we see a Champions performance tomorrow, which will set us up nicely going into our next few games

This is a great test to see where we are. Brentford away has always been a tricky tiggt fixture. They have had a big turnover of players but like Brighton they’ve had a few fringe players step up. Bit of a Liverpool influence with Henderson and Kelleher. They also play deep and counter which we can struggle with.

The Gtech and Anfield the only grounds that Haaland has played at and not scored a premier league goal. Foden however loves a goal there though. Last season’s match was a microcosm of our season. Played well, got ourselves into a decent position but collapsed under pressure due to lack of legs in midfield.

Despite all that we are more than capable of winning well there. We’re starting to show some decent form, though not quite performing for 90 minutes. We seem to be halfway between styles, loads of players happy to play fast on counters and others happy to slow things down. Twice in Monaco we were counter attacking and the ball was at Bernardo’s feet with runners ahead and he stepped in and slowed it down.

If we turn up we should win but we need to take our chances when we’re on top.

I doubt there's ever been a 'must-win' match in the first week of October

Will be tough no doubt.

Donnarumma

Nunes Dias Gvardiol O'Reily

Foden Rodri Reijnders

Bernardo Haaland Doku.

If Khusanov is back then he plays ahead of Nunes. Cherki will make the bench :-) win this and we enter the international break is a very decent position.

Come on City 1-3
Bernado?

Why are you judging somebody's love for the club based upon their assessment of the team?

We're not in MAGA-land, it's permitted to have some negative thoughts...

For the record, I'm far more encouraged than I was pre-season, although that's largely down to finding Liverpool pretty unimpressive compared to the juggernaut I expected. Early days of course.
It's just bizarre this place. I could have understood it 40 years or so ago but not now. Just a couple of weeks ago there were people saying we would never catch Liverpool, with one clown saying that we're "light years behind them". Win tomorrow and we're two points behind them, already with a considerably better goal difference. I've been saying for the past few weeks that Liverpool are scraping through and it wouldn't last. Looking at their squad and ours, I think we have the better, more exciting squad but it will take time to click, and we also need players back. Sure, we could lose too but it doesn't matter, it's far too early to be a concern yet even three matches in there were people saying we had "no chance" of winning the league with some even saying we'd struggle to make CL qualification again.

Three of the most recent signings, the three best ones in my opinion in Khusanov, Cherki and Marmoush have all missed several games so we can only get better when they get back to fitness and get game time, but all we get on here is doom and gloom and reading some of the threads, if you didn't know which team or knew nothing about football and you were just being introduced to the PL you would think it was a forum for one of the teams expecting to go down. There is far too much negativity and I'm sorry but I just think it's pathetic and a lot of people on here need to grow a pair and trust the process. We've got the world's best manager, striker and keeper and some exciting new players with others making it through the academy and I genuinely think we're capable of dominating for another 6, 8, 10 years. I don't think Liverpool are.

I have zero doubt the lads will step up tomorrow and get the job done. Clinical and ruthless from the off.

A win tomorrow puts us right in the mix. I expect we’ll put in a strong performance and get the 3 points.
