The first inklings of us not being right were against these at home back in September. Hopefully can start getting some real momentum going now for the 2nd half of the season.

Lived down that way for a while. Brentford area itself isn't much to talk about, better off having a late lunch and afternoon stroll by the river in Twickenham (Barmy Arms right on the river is good) then get the train on the loop line round to Brentford. Or similar from Richmond or Putney, plenty of decent pubs in either.

Thanks
Will try to find a craft pub or 2

What I'd hope for would be...

..............Ederson.............
.....Akanji Ake Gvardiol...
.........Nunes Kovacic.......
..Grealish Haaland KDB..
Savinho ................. Doku

  • No Akanji, Lewis or Gundogan in midfield
  • Haaland to play behind the wingers so that the long ball shit is not on and he has room to run into
  • Nunes, Kovacic Grealish and KDB to take turns at attacking while ensuring someone covers for them so we aren't exposed.
  • Foden, McAtee, Pusey, OReilly, Mubuma as subs
  • No Gundogan (love him still but wait until we have some form)
  • No Lewis (same)
  • No Bernardo (same)
  • Actually maybe Bernardo if he promises not to gift possession to the opposition too often
Thanks Pep

There are a few good places about 10 minutes walk from the ground.
The stadium is at Kew bridge, there are a few good pubs along the riverside.
If you walk towards Brentford and hit the McDs 10-12 mins there are 3 pubs within a minute of each other.
Black Dog, good pub, bit posh with food
Royal Horseguards, proper boozer. No food but good beer sel
Waterman arms, small with good beer and does Thai and stairs bar meals.
I am down for this one, will be in the Horseguards pre match. The bus stop outside McDs takes you straight to the ground. About 4 stops.

That Mbeumo always takes some watching, he's elusive, dangerous, and definitely has goals in him ..... will be a tough game, and much will depend on how much City have adapted and learnt in our last three (winning) games ..... this match will probably end in a draw.

Brentford have always been a bogey team for us and I don't believe we have turned a corner so I reckon another loss. 4 - 1 Brentford is my guess.

If we can get a back four of Ake, Dias, Akanji and Gvardiol out then we might have a chance to keep them to only one goal.

Ha!

They will just play exactly the same as Spurs but are better at it. If our team is still geriatric then they will have ten 3 v 3 counterattacks over the game.

Have people forgot before we played the relegation fodder we were conceding two goals a game on average?

I hope Pep adds some legs to the team but I don't think he will so the same issues that plagued us in the loss streak will still be there.

Will be a yardstick for where we are on rebuilding our form.

If Dias is still unfit, which I think he is, the team virtually picks itself, with the only real questions revolving around Doku, Savinho, Foden, Grealish. Pick your two and the rest of the team is already picked.

This would be a good victory as they love a fast break and one on one at the back, with a high line, could be suicide.

Referee: Anthony Taylor. Assistants: Gary Beswick, Adam Nunn. Fourth official: Will Finnie. VAR: Peter Bankes. Assistant VAR: Eddie Smart.

Appreciated

Assuming no more injuries and those unavailable last game are still unavailable.

Ederson
Lewis
Akanji
Ake
Gvardiol
Kovacic
Bernardo
Kdb
Doku
Savinho
Haaland.

Mcatee should be first off the bench for kdb when he's knackered ahead of Foden or Gundo or Grealish.
