Brian Cox

I have enjoyed this thread immensely and it shows why the human race has made such dramatic leaps into the great unknown for over two hundred millennia. We make progress because of free thinkers, thinkers in our world not unlike our brother Hodge who takes little if anything at face value until input and data has been analized. The amount of folk carping on about propaganda in our broadsheets and the Daily Mail is disconcerting and yet they are the same people that have the audacity to question Hodges mindset when privy to the knowledge that deception is afoot.

I used to think the earth was flat but I did my homework because like Hodge and the many others silently sitting among you I too am a free thinker.I look for alternatives and do not follow the normal train of thought. It's the easiest thing in the world to be a lemming and follow the pack into oblivion but it takes a brave and courageous mindset to cart on and examine the auntie.Hodge if your looking in the world is round and Instead of blinding you with physics Corialis effects and trade wins I would prefer to show you a video from my archives.I have a Go-pro camera and can attest to their accuracy and a case of what you see is what you get.As Felix begins his decent have a look at the curvature of Our Earth as he free-falls downwards into the record books.

I'm not sure what amuses me most here - SWP's cake paintings or Two Gun Bob wanting to examine an auntie.
I was amused by SWP's sausage fingers predictive text typo when I read 'cake paintings'.

There's me thinking Stone Age man had drawn a range of Mr Kipling's finest in some remote cave. Mr Kipling's makes exceedingly good caves.

Great photo. And isn’t it a bit too early to be talking about ‘trade wins’ until we see the consequences Brexit and Trump’s ‘America First’ imposition of tariffs?

Nothing wrong at all with being a free-thinker, most of the best scientists in history were just that, not afraid to challenge established beliefs. The sticking point is that they backed up their claims with hard theories and positive experimental proofs. From what I've seen of the flat earth proponents they mostly come out with negative points such as the water not going downhill etc.

Look its quite simple, I don't accept the spinning ball earth. I used to but not anymore. I don't detect any movement of Earth and never will . I believe like sygnac proved that the ether moves and not earth. I have yet to see curveture be it at the ocean or in a plane or 121,000 ft captured on camera. The stars are always in the same sky the North star is always in the same place even though we are supposedly spinning at over 1000 mph at the equator whilst travelling at over 660000 miles per hour around the sun whilst travelling even faster through endless space, now I don't why you think its fine to ridicule me or anyone else who thinks this is absurd. I didn't just wake up and say to myself fek it let's me put myself on a pedestal to be shot at. Now I won't speak badly of people on here no matter what has been thrown at me, I'm a wiser and stronger person than you all think. I think and speak my own mind and no one will change that.
Just seen this and honestly, I suggest you open your mind to the reasons why what you believe is wrong, rather than just blindly sticking to it.

If the earth is not spinning, how do you explain this:

Of course everything the likes of Brian Cox et al tells you is true. Just because some of it is not immediately intuitive, does not mean it's wrong!

You have 3 options really:

1. Do some reading of your own and actually try to *understand* for yourself what physics tells us about the world we live in, and how it exactly matches up with the empirical evidence.

2. Decide that since all credible sources agree, then it must all be true and just accept it.

3. Continue with an idiotic belief which is not only false, it's unhelpful and leads to you being laughed at, for no benefit.

Up to you.
